Alice sighed, placing her hands on her hips. “Well, don’t you remember what happened the last time?”

“I got yelled at…” she sighed and pouted. “No one lets me have any fun!”

“You having fun usually ends up in something breaking.” she said fighting back a smile.

“……That happened ONCE and it was MOSTLY Mally’s fault!”

Alice rolled her eyes and let out a soft chuckle. “Whatever you say.” she said as took a step forward, all but closing the distance between the two girls. She silently stared at her friend for a moment before brushing the dark hair away from her face.

“There’s no need to apologize. I’m here to help any way I can.” She said, her nerves getting worse as they made their way to the door at the end of the hallway.

Thack stopped and turned to her, placing his hands on her shoulders gently. “You sure you want to help me with this?…You can opt out now if you want?…” His eyes shifted down to hers, a serious tone taking over.

“No.” She said sternly, “I’m good.” Alice grabbed the doorknob with a shaky hand and pushed the door forward. She peeked in. Though the room was dark, she could faintly make out the shadow of Tarrant in the corner.

Thackery looked into the room to see the shadow of Tarrant sitting there. He looked back down to Alice and lowered his voice. “I figured…since he seems to be the most calm when he’s around you…that you’d be able to help.” He whispered a little. Thack took a step into the room, looking at Tarrant.

Alice gave him a soft nod before slowly stepping towards the Hatter. "Hey Tarrant." She whispered. When there was no response she turned her attention back to the Hare, looking for some guidance.

"I apologize for putting you in this position."

“There’s no need to apologize. I’m here to help any way I can.” She said, her nerves getting worse as they made their way to the door at the end of the hallway.

Her laughter grew louder as she danced around in circles. The rest of the band joined in with Mallys strumming and Tarrant sang happily while he watched her. Alice made the mistake of closing her eyes. A few seconds later she tripped over a wire, her ankle making a loud popping sound.

He could see it from a mile away, she always got clumsy when she got carried away. All but throwing the guitar down and running to her aid, as many others did, he stood over her. “Alice? Are you alright?”

Alice clenched her jaw as she grabbed her ankle. Though she was trying to hold back, tears began to fill her eyes. She looked up at Mally, her face pink with embarrassment. "It hurts." She whimpered.

Alice giggled. “I dunno. I kinda like the sparkles.” She hopped in front of him, twirling a bit. “I look like a little blue disco ball!”

“Well when you end up blinding the crowd like the lights. I wont say I told you so.” He smirked devilishly at her as he turned to face her, strumming along to ‘Light it up’

“yeah I know. I don’t really like it either.” She said in a hushed voice. Alice crossed her arms over her chest and leaned towards him, facing the rest of the band. She whispered while rolling her eyes, “Tarrant had some sort of epiphany and rearranged everything.” She let out a frustrated sigh before resting her head on his shoulder.

He leaned his head on hers and gave a heavy sigh. “Yea. I can tell.” He snorts a bit of laughter under his breath. “I think he may have gone a little too overboard with the sparkles too. At least i’m getting away relatively bling free.”

Alice giggled. "I dunno. I kinda like the sparkles." She hopped in front of him, twirling a bit. "I look like a little blue disco ball!"

“I’m right here, I would assume you knew that since you are touching me.” He smirks, although something behind the show was off. “You know It’s weird being on this side of the stage.” Thinking of anything to get her off the topic he blurted out the first thing that came to mind. “I mean, I’m so used to that spot. Whose idea was it again to switch?”

The words Mirana had spoken rang in his head as they stood around practicing for tomorrow night’s show. As Mally strummed along to the music he couldn’t catch himself drift before Alice had bumped into him. 

“Sorry.” He mumbled turning to her and making a face. “What did you say?”

Alice had grabbed his arms lightly when they collided. "I was just asking if everything was alright." She said, her finger tips brushing down his arm. "You seem like you are some place else."

"Hey, pretty girl." Tarrant smiled.

Alice, still in her sweats and oversized t shirt, brushed away the matted blonde hair from her face. “What.” She said with a deadpan stare.

“I just wanted to say hey. That’s all.” He smiled at her, not even slightly intimidated by her appearance. He wasn’t even glorious himself. He was in a pair of pink, huge, fluffy pajama pants and a white tank top with sparkles on the collar. “Good morning.”

“sorry.” She said groggily as she made her way towards the fridge. “I just didn’t sleep well at all last night.” She called out behind her as searched for something to eat.

“Oh, what was the matter?” He walked over, grabbing Lucky charms from a cupboard. “Nightmares?” He took a handful and chomped noisily.

She set down the milk she had taken from the fridge before grabbing the box from him. "Just a few." Her voice was full of sadness and frustration. She poured herself a small bowl and took a huge spoonful. "I let my nerves get the better of me." She said, her mouth half full of cereal.
