It wasn’t the snoring that was surprising Rosa, oddly. Nor was it the fact that this person was sleeping in the forest - she’d done that before herself.

The difference was, when she fell asleep, it had usually been on grass.

“How does a person fall asleep on a tree stump?”

She tried poking the snoozing girl’s shoulder, to try and maybe wake her up.

Ashley lifted her head from the rotting wood slowly. “Eh? whoozit...?” Her head hurt a bit, and she quickly realized she fell asleep with her wig on. Well, since it was a stranger shaking her awake, perhaps that had worked out in her favor. She made sure that it hadn’t snagged on the tree stump as she lifted her head up the rest of the way.

“Whaa... what is it?”

Whether it was from a Sleep Powder trick or she was just tired, Ashley was fast asleep on a tree stump in the middle of the forest. This probably wasn’t the best place to be napping; her snores would definitely attract wild Pokemon. Of course, being unconscious, Ashley had no awareness of the fact that she was snoring very loudly, and thus continued to do so.

“Ah, yes… wonderful. You two look like you are happy with one another.”

“We are!” She smiled, reaching up and petting Pikachu’s head. He chuu’d at the attention, closing his eyes contentedly. “Pikachu and I’ve been buddies for forever! I couldn’t imagine bein’ without ‘im.” Her attention turned back towards the reason she asked. “So what’s this project thing you’re workin’ on?”

“Pika?” At that exact time, Pikachu lept up onto her head, peering over the pink bow. Who was this stranger asking about him? He waved.

Ashley giggled, trying to suppress it, then let out a full, loud and heavy laugh, snorting and overall sounding very un-ladylike. She probably shouldn’t have laughed, but the idea of someone asking her if she knew what a Pikachu was when she traveled with one on her shoulder almost constantly was just too bizarre.

“I’d say I am!”

Wow. It had been so long since she had been asked that, that it felt rather weird to her to respond to such a question.

“It is Professor Cecillia Radley. Or just Cecil, if that is easier.”

Oh, a professor! “It’s nice to meet you, Professor!” Now she was almost a bit embarrassed to have spoken so casually, but in her defense, there wasn’t much chance she would have known this before.

She tilted her head a little bit and knelt down so that she was eye level with the other. Due to her height, it was hard to hear people who were smaller than her if she didn’t.

“Yes… where exactly are you looking to go, mon ami?”

“Uh, I just got into town, so the Pokemon Center.” She turned her map a little, inspecting it. “I’m not so good at directions... By the way, what’s your name? Mine’s Ashley.” She gave a smile. Even when hopelessly lost, she’d be friendly to strangers- after all, they were potential friends.
