          THERE’S ALMOST a laugh out of him. Not because it’s funny ( but damn if it isn’t the best thing he’s heard in weeks ), but the shock. At least the focus is taken off being left out of the loop and directed more toward, who WOULD go around bragging about that. Eight kids? ╰☆╮- THAT ISN’T A QUESTION she’s not used to hearing after the admission, and she wishes she had a good answer for it. Something quirky or funny or whatever. Sadly she doesn’t really have one at all and has always resorted to falling back on her father’s religion and both of her parents lack of responsibility. ❝ The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America believes it’s the responsibility of both a man and a woman to use contraception when not trying to procreate. I guess my folks weren’t very responsible. Lucky for me though, since I’m the baby, right after George. ❞

               “Ehhh, yeah probably.” Light laugh escaping before eyes are looking through the pictures his little sister has to offer in the room. As weird as it is being back – Joel can’t say he absolutely hates it. Especially when he gets to see that face light up. “Well you’ve definitely got a bunch of talented rugrats on your hands. Look at these!” Genuine excitement rippling through Joel’s expression as he starts poking around at anything he can get his hands on. The dragon-horse first before getting to some very strange yet interesting renditions of various bugs, cats, and what he can only really describe as Krampus. “And you work here every day with the kids?” Hues settling back on Hanna after a moment as the question slips out.

╰☆╮- “They really are.” She can’t take credit for the creativity that pours out of these kids, but she can say it’s nice that they have a way to channel that creativity into something beyond tagging buildings or drawing on sidewalks with chalk when the next rain will wash it away. She nods at his next question, moving away to start leaning a few of the canvases against the far wall, stacking others on a long table to try to make more room. “Mhm. The last director of the Center ended up moving somewhere, for something. He wasn’t very personable so he never told me why he was leaving. After I’d been here about a year under him the city came in and offered me the job. I changed a few things, made the after-school program and it’s kinda taken off from there. Sadly they’re so creative I’m kind of overrun with artwork now. Thinkin’ about putting together a sale. Seeing if the kids want to sell their stuff, make a little ice cream money or something. Keep a small cut for the center so I can get more supplies.”
