Decided to get some photos of my own personal hand paws while i had the lighting set up, and they serve as a good example for more complex patterns i can do!

For these i used runnerrabbit's hand paw pattern, plus my own original colours added to it. I have been working on making my own pattern for hand paws, so i will for sure post some more hand paws in the future.

Finished my first pair of hand paws for a customer! The simple black design is lovely with the pink beans and holo claws, and blue cuff and lining to match the character ^^

I am going to propose, tentatively, a list of traits. Sparkledog enthusiasts feel free to shoot me on sight if I’ve messed up here!

Legs must be banded below the elbow/knee, in a minimum of two visually distinct colours. The higher contrast the better, of course.

Head must have naturally long fur of a vibrant colour, this will ideally fall forwards over the eyes of the sparkledog in the classic Emo style. Spiking backwards and up is acceptable in puppies but considered a fault in adult categories.

Fur must have a minimum of 1 third of the breed defining ‘sparkle’ present across all body areas. higher proportions of Sparkle are considered more valuable.

shoulder ruffs ('wings’) are highly desirable, especially in aesthetically pleasing pairings such as black and white, and should stand without drooping on their own.

Tail should be long furred and reach the ground level when standing, with significant striping pattern highly desired

Recognised Colours of this breed are not applicable, as this breed is judged on the saturation and contrast rather than specific tones. Uranium Green is a historic show winnerm

It is desired to have a minimum of 3 distinct body patterns, to add to the visual appeal of the animal.

typical gait should be a bounding trot, animal must display joy at life in every movement to be a true show winning sparkledog.

Temperament must be friendly and emotionally expressive, reflecting the breeds history as therapy creatures. Aloofness and calm nature can be considered a fault in this breed as the breed’s historic working activity is to assist with whimsy, and such traits are likely to interfere with the breeds purpose.

Regarding accessories for show entry, it is typical to adorn sparkledogs with spiked collars, however chain collars may be accepted at some show locations. harnesses should not be used with this breed due to the delicate nature of the shoulder ruffs
