The bombardment of Gaza has not stopped since this morning. The sky has not calmed, the sounds have not faded, and fear remains exactly the same, as if nothing ever ended. They deceived you when they said the war was over, because those who live here know well that death never left and that danger is still present in every moment.

I am one of thousands of fathers in Gaza. My home was destroyed, my family was displaced, and my children grew up to the sound of shelling instead of safety. My daughters ask me every day when we will return to living a normal life, and I have no answer, because we are still living day by day, searching for temporary survival in a reality that shows no mercy.

We are not numbers in the news, and we are not a story that has ended. We are families still being bombed, children still living in fear, and fathers trying to remain strong in front of their children while silently breaking inside. This is the actual image (from a 6 year old reddit post so def not AI). Either someone asked AI to recreate it or AI, being the plagiarism machine it is, was asked for a pic of dogs finding humans in the snow and just ripped off the first image it could find. Another reminder that AI doesn't actually create anything. Also real cute dogs.

Dandadan is so personal to me, the story feels like it doesn't shy away from portraying negative emotions alongside sillier moments and cute scenes. It feels like an amalgamation of every type of emotion people tend to have. It's messy in a perfect way.
