the apple sketch
One of the things that really does it for me and I think a lot of Good Omens fans is that canonically, Crowley and Aziraphale, separately and even moreso together, are ridiculous. Their jobs are ridiculous, the "company" they work for/that enslaves them is ridiculous, the way they exist is ridiculous, and they themselves are creatures with a variety of bizarre and hilarious behaviors (which only get more bizarre and hilarious with proximity to each other).
We can all identify, I'm sure.
But Crowley snd Aziraphale's love isn't ridiculous at all. It's presented by the show sincerely, and we are asked to take it seriously and feel it as genuine and real and important.
And I feel like @eklmrlos really nails both sides of that: the ridiculousness of the characters and the unguarded sincerity of their love for each other.
Which is especially impressive imo given their art has no background: when we look at a piece of eklmrlos art, we get to see Aziraphale-and-Crowley, their relationship, distilled around a single item--an apple, a cup of tea, a bird, an armchair or a pillow, an endearment--into a single moment of themness, their ridiculous selves and their beautiful, enviable love.
