Here’s the thingy-thing about Miss Cortney, okay? I could sit here and tell you guys what a sweet, supportive snowflake she is, how she’s one of the most fiercely loyal friends I’ve ever met on Tumblr, how she is on-point and amazing and adorable as hell, but I don’t wanna talk about that, because Frankly (hah!) no one but her cares when I say nice shit about her a person.Her writing, though. Literal drug. Actual drug. Not kidding.

She’s got this character, right?, who is really easy to–in fact, usually is–reduce(d) down to one long running joke. Just a normal, horny guy in heels. Gay alien. Done. I have never, ever seen Cortney herself write Frank that way. I love Tim Curry, I do, but he has no nuance to his performance and somehow, don’t ask me how!, Cortney’s managed to invent moments of nuance in the canon space and inhabit the complexity of those moments. His acting scene by scene is very on the nose and Cortney has sat back and said “But look at the change. Watch the shift. He wasn’t sliding there himself, okay, but the writing was and just. Look.” And out of that comes this really complicated, serious Frank, who can do those light, cracky, what-the-fuck moments, but who seems to dwell in a far more intellectual and even cruel space.

And I love it.

And you should all go love her. }
