The fight against your ego is terrible and full of dangers. You cannot fight it by yourself but you must find someone who has won this fight and can show you what to do. Never meet your ego head-on. If you say to it: ‘I’m declaring war on you’, then you are finished. You must flatter it. The ego is suspicious so you must show it your friendly side by saying, ‘I like you more than anything in this world.’ Then its tyranny will soon be over.
