In the same vein, Swindle is written by Lolly and illustrated by Artsy! Comic updates weekly unless otherwise stated (announcements are made in the Discord server). Where will Swindle go if Tumblr goes down for good?

Hello, everyone, Artsy here.

So I'm aware that a lot of people are worried about tumblr potentially being shut down, and while that isn't necessarily the most likely case scenario, we wanted to make sure people had a way of reading this comic without having to download it in the event that we could no longer host it here.

The solution to that was to make a dedicated website for Swindle! This link should open up your web browser if you're accessing us from the tumblr app - please bookmark the website! I tried to code it in a way that would make it appealing and easy to use from either desktop or mobile devices!

In the future, it might be interesting to implement a sort of comments section, though I'm not keen to do so while we're still on hiatus, and don't see the point of it if tumblr is still up and running. Otherwise, I think it's about as complete as it could be! If you have feedback, please let us know! And if you've visited the website before, you may need to clear your browser's cache/cookies/site data in order for it to properly update (your browser is still storing the old HTML code and you need to clear that!)

Hi hello, I'm Lolly!! :D It's very nice to see you again. I say that because my posts on this blog have gone from semi-frequent to rare to nonexistent in the last year or so. That's because I haven't really touched Swindle in quite a while. Though the last page of chapter 4 was only posted a few days ago, I finished writing the script for it in late 2021 and have since stepped back to focus on other things that provide mental enrichment.

I love this comic very much. I am insanely proud of it. Of myself and of Artsy. We've created something that is so fun and ridiculous. I think it is one of the most well crafted projects I've ever gotten to participate in. On all levels except physical I am placing it on my fridge for everybody to look at.

In all honestly, I haven't really been paying that much attention to this comic since the chapter 4 pages started rolling out. So I haven't really noticed that there is still a large consistent amount of readers interacting with it. I was surprised by the likes, the comments, the follower count, the art, the fics, the investment in general. It's all so cool, it made me really happy!!!

Thank you for all the support and patience and engagement!!!

Anyway, this comic being my pride and joy is the exact reason that it will be taking a rest for a while. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to building scenes and writing engaging and flowing dialogue and consistent characterization and BLAH. I want those ducks jumping off the pages. That is my goal. As a result, this comic takes an explosive amount of energy and commitment to write. Energy and commitment that I simply do not have to spare during this time. And I have no idea when I will.

So. It is time for Swindle to sleep for a while. It is time for Tybernation.

But wow!!! 4 chapters and 100 pages!!! That is super impressive I think!!!! So even if it takes a while for the story to resume, there's always plenty to revisit.

I was wondering if u finished the comic book, are you thinking of publishing it or self-publishing it to the world because I will LOVE a copy of this book 😏😊

Unfortunately, the answer is complicated.

Firstly, yes, we do have a planned ending to the comic, it's just gonna take a long time to get there. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. I know older readers have known this but I felt like newer readers should know that, too.

Secondly, if any physical copies came out, they would have to be self-published, as in... self-printed. At my house. And stapled together by hand. This is because the vast majority of printing companies won't mass-produce pieces with licensed characters. Additionally, for the same reason, the likelihood of being able to make money off of physical copies could land us in Cease & Desist territory pretty quickly. Now, I know tumblr doesn't make follower counts public, but we have four and a half thousand readers, at least. The truth is that I just ultimately wouldn't be able to keep up with potential demand. It costs money to print, even if you do the whole thing from home, and a lot of labor.

I imagine, best case scenario, a handful of sets get printed. One for me, one for Lolly, and a few to raffle off to some lucky fans. But please remember that that's best case scenario.
