The Duckburg beach was crowded. And It was hot. Louie hated being hot. The weather forced Louie to retire his beloved hoodie for the day, put on swim trunks, and accompany his siblings (minus Webby, but plus unfortunate other company,) to the dirtiest beach Louies ever been to.
And hey- Louies not stuck up, despite his uncle's riches, he likes to think hes a realistic, not very spoiled guy. (To an extent.) However, there was a screaming baby, overflowing trash can, and dead seagul all within 15 feet of him. So, yeah, he was complaining.
"I really hope there's a second, better beach im not seeing here." Louie wiped off his forhead and adjusted the tuffs on the side of his face, knowing the small feathers probably clumped together from the sweat.
"You ungrateful scum." Dewey threw his gear into the hot sand and ajusted his blue goggles with a smack as they hit his face. "If there's water and sand, I am dew-ing fantastic. Where's your beach loving spirit?"
"I lost it the second we stepped outside of air conditioning." Louie mumbled as he crossed his arms and fanned his face with one hand.
Dewey rolled his eyes and sighed. "Well, whatever. You're not ruining my beach day with that additude, the waves await!" Dewey grabbed his foam boogie board and sprinted down to the water, laughing all the way.
"Wait, hold o- DEWEY! SUNSCREEN! PUT ON THE SUNSCREEN! UNCLE DONALDS GONNA KILL YOU!" Huey yelled and pinched his eyes. "I know he hears me, are we all seeing this? Oh my god- DEWEY!" Louie watched, deadpanned, as one brother chased after the other into the water.
"Its way too early for this." Louie said flatly.
"Dude, its like 2pm." A deeper voice from behind him scoffed.
Louie whipped his head around to see Ty Cloudkicker, the most annoying bear in all of Duckburg, standing with all the rest of the beach gear Louie refused to carry.
"Yeah, thats early." Louie walked ahead and sat down on the hot sand, digging his feet into it and leaning back on his hands.
"You could at least pretend to help me set the stuff up." Ty let the bags, cooler, and umbrella he was holding crash to the ground, picking up the umbrella and starting to undo the tie for it.
"Why would I do that when I have the floor to sit on and this beautiful veiw?" He gestured to Huey and Dewey wresting on the shore, Huey doing his best to get even a drop of sunscreen on Deweys face while actively getting a flipper pushed into his beak.
Ty snorted. "Yeah, truely wonderful." Louie giggled and flicked his sunglasses onto his face from his forhead.
As the bear stabbed the end of the umbrella in the sand, Louie rolled over to be in the shade. He sighed contentedly.
"My bets on Dewey winning the sunscreen battle." Louie hummed as he grabbed a Pep out of the cooler. Ty stretched up high as he finished unpacking with no help.
"Nah, ive seen Huey wrestle and ive been the one to be wrestled. He's coming out on top for sure." Louie squinted forward through the sunlight rays. "Though, Dewey did just shove him under a wave, so its kinda up in the air." Ty hummed in agreement.
"So? You getting in the water?" Ty scratched his nose as he looked down at Louie. Louie looked away to avoid the endearing twang his heart sang. Its probably heartburn from all the soda, he lied to himself.
"Im perfectly fine with my pep in the shade, thank you." He took a loud sip to puncuate it.
Ty scoffed.
"Fine, suit yourself." With one hand and in one swoop, Ty took his shirt off.
And boy.
Louie felt his mouth go dry and his beak fall open. He had seen people shirtless before, hell, he had seen crazy handsome guys shirtless before, but none of them made his stomach feel like it was gonna fly away from him before.
The bright rays of sun shined on Tys light and dark brown furr, highlighting the adorable heart shape it made.
Louie couldn't tear his eyes away from it. How much of a stupid adorable asshole could Ty be?! A HEART? Is he a Care Bear?! Louie looked to the side and pushed his sunglasses up on his head again.
When he turned back, he came face to face with Ty. He had crouched down to get to Louies level, to the ducks dismay.
"GUH!" Louie froze up, his vision being filled with two bug like big brown eyes. The sun made them goddamm sparkle.
"Wow." Said ty, under his breath, making Louie quickly lose his. "You get sunburned like, crazy quick. You're pink as hell."
"Yeah." He breathed out. He cleared his throat. "I-I mean yeah, we're ducks, pretty pale, I burn like a lobster. Heh." He felt himself smile, but could tell it came across as threatening if anything.
Ty smiled a smile noticeably less threatening then Louies snaral, and far more charming, Louie swooned.
"Maybe you should go join thing one and thing two down there, get some sunscreen for yourself." They both took a second to look at the two, both soaked in water, now squaring off like a old fashioned western duel. Huey twirled the sunscreen like a gun as they slowly circled eachother.
"Not sure I wanna take place in whatever they've got going on."
Ty shrugged. "Can't say I blame ya." He stood up and cracked his knuckles, walking a bit forward.
"Im heading in, still not coming?" Ty looked back, a bit of hopefulness glimmered in his eyes.
"...I will, later, I promise."
"Cool." Ty said, turning around. "It'll be more fun with you." He said, cleared his throat, and sped walked down the beach, past the once again fighting Huey and Dewey.
Louie felt his beak close, and open, and close and open, with no words falling out. In pure flush and confusion, he shook his head so hard Pep spilled out of the can and onto his hand, dripping onto the sand.
Louie knew it was a hot day on the Duckburg beach but holy fuck did he feel warm all of a sudden.
