The amazing digital art of su jian
About 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease. I had the most bizarre symptoms like temporary loosing my ability to see, feeling like I had tiny pins in my hands and feet, and auditory hallucinations. The list goes on. A huge misconception about Lyme’s is that it just makes people tired, which often does occur. However, my hardest symptoms were the neurological aspects of feeling constantly in a state of panic while simultaneously depressed, every day was a huge emotional roller coaster that would vacillate from hour to hour. It felt like I had exchanged bodies with a stranger, leaving own sense of self feel completely estranged. What makes these diseases even more precarious is there very difficult to diagnose, often masquerading as other diseases or being accompanied by co-infections. It can feel and present as 4 different disease all in one. This means that symptoms come and go and new ones constantly pop up. While going through treatment, I also received a lot of unwarranted medical advice from non-medicine practicing people. Whether it was drinking a gallon of apple cider vinegar and flushing my antibiotics down the drain, or ingesting more aluminum to stabilize this bacteria, everyone but myself seemed to have the cure. These gross misunderstandings came on top of a lot of people’s first reaction to blame for “not checking for ticks”, which in reality can be very tricky to detect! These words have and continue to be harmful when talking to people with chronic illnesses because it often blames them for acquiring it in the first place. While it most certainly come from a good place, often times these conversations left me the most defeated as it felt like people grossly misunderstood what I was experiencing day to day. After 4 years, I can safely say that I am only dealing with the aftermath of the disease, with some pain symptoms, occasional insomnia, and general anxiety. For me, my best treatment was antibiotics (it took about 5,040 pills for 1.5 years really feel back to myself) as well as working tinctured herbs and plants like St. John’s Wort, Teasel root, Reshi, and Nettle. Both were equally important for my health and what ultimately subdued my symptoms. I am both incredible hurt and extremely grateful for this time in my life because it gave me a new set of tools to sometimes ditching the pill bottle and finding alternatives to produce a more gentle outcome. My relationship with the outdoors has completely been changed by this experience, often feeling nervous on walks outside, but this time of year is a nice visual reminder of all of the plants that helped me regain some sense of balance back in my life.

honestly some of y’all want a significant other so badly and can’t understand why you can’t find one, but have no sense of boundaries or healthy expectations of what a relationship is like. in a committed long-term partnership you get left on read, you wait for texts back, and you can forget about each other when you’re busy. sometimes you fall asleep without saying goodnight and sometimes you’re too caught up to text each other before 6pm. that’s how it is. thinking that you can’t be deeply, beautifully in love and still wait more than “1.75 hours” for a text back is such an unhealthy and unreasonable expectation of what love is, and you shouldn’t be in a relationship if you can’t allow the other person to exist on their own apart from you. if you’re projecting your anxieties and insecurities onto a partner who doesn’t even exist yet, then you aren’t ready for one.
I dunno if you accept questions like this, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to send it to you. You seem to be very self-confident and comfortable in your skin, accepting yourself just as is. Did you always have really good self-esteem or was it a process for you? Sorry if this seems invasive - I just want to be like that too.
I’ve got like a decade of eating disorders, debilitating body dysmorphia, and a lifetime of clinical anxiety under my belt. I just, y’know, make an ongoing effort to manage all my damage the healthiest way possible.
Honestly I get pretty ruffled by the number of people on tumblr especially who behave like just because you successfully accomplish something it means it wasn’t difficult for you. The number of time I say something like “your attitude towards yourself will improve if you make an active effort to stop putting yourself down” or “you will have a harder time finding employment if you insult your own work in front of potential employers” and get people slinging things like “easy for you to say, we can’t all be neurotypical” back at me, all I can really do is be like, you know what you do you, I can’t want your success more than you do.

Hey, it’s been a while hehe here are some Sketches from this year :)
They’re becoming self-aware
Lycans: Harnessing the raw power of Lycan state these operators work together in groups to be effective. Working in pairs they help each other maintain their focus so as not to lose control and potentially harm their own team. While technology/methodology helps control them their true strength comes from their pack and the bonds between each member.
From the top, left to right:
1: Alpha. Team leader. Issues commands, maintains their team, and leads by example. Incredibly strong and has mastered the Lycan state.
2: Huntsman. New Lycans. Useful in all situations. Tough, strong, and reliable. Teams can further specialize in to specific roles.
3: Goliath. Heavy weapons team. Able to bring rotary gatling guns, autocannons, and small artillery Goliath teams are a force to be reckoned with.
4: Seeker. Counter snipers, scouts, and trackers. Seekers push ahead quietly eliminating threats and gathering recon.
5: Veterinarian. A specialized medic able to work with Lycan physiology. Heals injured comrades and can remove gravely wounded team members from the operation zone to safety.
6: Arcane. Lycan battle mage. A rare breed of Lycan able to harness magic and the elements. Powerful in their own right and highly sought after.
7: Feral. Berserker. Unable to revert to human form Ferals are used to sow chaos and destruction. Highly regulated with transformation serum they fight in a drug induced haze.
8: Retainer. Team tracker. Maintains other Lycans through use of transformation serum to regulate their state. If need be they can revert a Lycan back to their human form if they become dangerous to other team members. Not glamourous but very important.
And finally the sketches i used to get to the final images.
