Bandom Holidays

For those of you who are bandom creators (writers, artists, podficcers) we have an annual holiday fanwork exchange over on Dreamwidth/AO3. Sign-ups and rules are on DW (you don’t need an account to sign up, you can do so anonymously), the actual fanworks are posted on AO3 (you do need an account to post).

We’d love to have anyone who is interested in participating! It’s a great little fun exchange, nothing really intense, just something to give us some new bandom content during the holidays.

The fanworks do not have to be holiday themed, so if you’re like me and dislike the holidays (frnk’s xmas sux rules!), you can still create a fanwork.

Joe didn't even want to take the scenic route home from Las Vegas, but Pete never listens, so they're in Death Valley when the ships pass overhead. That's the only reason they're not taken. They should have been. They could all have been at home with their loved ones, taken alongside them. But they weren't.

It quickly becomes apparent that the whole planet's population has been decimated. All population centres have been stripped of every human inhabitant - there are no bodies, no destruction aside from the fires that burn from kitchens left unattended and cars suddenly driverless in the streets - everyone is just gone.

So, they do the only thing they can think of - they go home.

The studio, as it always was, was rife with discomfort - disagreements, embarrassments over the way they’d forgotten how to play with each other - and yet it impressed upon Frank again and again what was missing. He left the studio every day exhausted, but… Curiously absent was that old heartache, the pang of creation. _

In which Gerard hates everything he writes, Ray is coddling him through it, and Frank is coming to terms with the fact that MCR is the most important thing he’ll ever do, and that he’s not the frontman. A story about the building and dismantling of Conventional Weapons, and how much James and Frank hate LA, but love each other. Written for Bandom Big Bang 2017.
