"The money is only important because it's important to other people-- a sign of respect via perceived 'worth.' But it means nothing compared to my name."
On the off chance you made your way to this dark little corner of the internet on accident, I'm Deathstroke, mercenary for hire. My loyalty follows my word, and my word follows money. I'll solve any problem for the right price.
I don't know what you'd want with me, but under the mask, I'm Slade Wilson. Divorced father of three living and one deceased, former U.S Army Lieutenant Colonel, currently a for-hire super soldier. You can try to stop me--it won't work.
"I didn't actually expect it to kill him. But I'll be damned if I try something complicated when a bullet to the skull will do the trick."

Mun Info
Hiiii! I'm Jay, I use he/him pronouns, and I'm 18! I think Slade is. A neat little atrocity. I know the DC fandom can have a problem with seeing everything in black and white, but I love characterizations of Slade where he operates more in a grey zone. He's definitely not a good person, but he still has a code. Even if no one can really figure out what it is. Little disclaimer THIS SLADE IS NOT A PEDO. He's manipulative yes, he's a pretty trashy dad, but he is not. A. Predator. I'm going to hit Marv Wolfman for constantly acting out his weird interests in his writing. I post in purple, Slade as Deathstroke posts in orange, and Slade as himself posts in plain text.

Shipping
Shipping is allowed, but if people get weird with it I'm going to disallow it. No Sladick, nothing like that, please and thank you. If you want to do a ship, the mun must be 18 or older, and the character MUST be within Slade's age range.
I don't really have any ships that I like for Slade, but if you know of any, please come to me with them!
Rules
Please take a look at this etiquette post!!!

-Once again, I would like to reiterate, THIS SLADE IS NOT A PEDO. If you don't like me playing him just don't interact with this blog.
-When he's not on a job, it's not really worth overworking his brain, so Slade has terrible depth perception usually.
-Slade is a crappy dad, and he doesn't really know how to be any better (partly due to the fact that he refuses to accept the idea that he's ever been a victim, so he can't see when his children are victims), but he does love his kids. He's just really, really bad at showing it.
-He likes to pretend he's calm cool and collected but he's actually very easily ragebaited.

Who’s your fav kid/apprentice?
Including Nightwing and Terra and the others
Nightwing and Terra were good, but they were soft. Not cut out for the work.
If we’re talking about my living children, then it’s Rose. We clash more often than not, but I know who she is. I know what she’s capable of. And she’s still my daughter; she always comes back.
If we’re talking all-time favorite, it’s Respawn. The kid never faltered, from the very beginning. He was more loyal than the ones I raised myself.
Do I believe everything happens for a reason? Do I look religious to you? Fuck fate. I've seen too much fucked up shit to believe that. What kind of reason could any of it possibly have?

A brief clarification for those who continue confusing verbosity with pretension:
Using precise language is not an affectation merely because you personally require a running start to clear three syllables.
Words possess specific meanings. Those meanings allow us to communicate complex ideas without reducing every conversation to grunts, threats, and vague hand gestures. Humanity developed an entire lexicon, and I see no compelling reason to abandon it simply because some of you regard opening a dictionary as an act of intellectual surrender.
“You only use big words to sound smart.” No. I use the correct words because I am smart. You interpret that as performance because your own intelligence apparently requires one.
Furthermore, brevity is not inherently indicative of depth. Sometimes a concise statement is elegant. Sometimes it is merely the complete extent of what its speaker was capable of producing. Silence may be mysterious. It may also be empty. The distinction becomes obvious the moment the person begins talking.
So, please: continue insisting that your inability to follow a sentence is actually evidence of my poor communication. It is an extraordinarily efficient method of identifying the weakest participant in any conversation. And should six syllables constitute a personal attack, the dictionary is not your enemy. It is an intervention.
Wonderful, I was beginning to worry the sustained cognitive exertion had killed you.
“Fuck you too, Nygma.” Four whole words. A subject, a verb, an object, and even the correct application of a comma by implication. Slade, this is extraordinary. We should commemorate the occasion. I’ll have a plaque made.
Do you know what I admire most? The progression. First, you dismissed my speech as “babbling.” Then, when confronted with an argument, you reduced your response to “blah blah blah.” Now you’ve abandoned pretense entirely and arrived at profanity.
It’s practically evolutionary. In reverse.
Keep going. I’m fascinated to discover what lies beneath language. Perhaps your next response will be an open-mouthed snarl. After that, you can throw a rock at me. Eventually, we’ll strip away enough higher brain function to observe you communicating exclusively through territorial urination.

By the almighty, Nygma, will you quit your incessant jabberin’? I swear you never stop talkin’
@sword-for-hire
Slade, the fact that you experience coherent speech as “incessant jabbering” says considerably more about the intellectual conditions inside that helmet than it does about me.
Some of us communicate through complete sentences rather than tactical grunting, gunfire, and prolonged displays of masculine disapproval.
Maybe some of us don’t need to babble like an overeager thesaurus t’seem smart. We show it. Or did you forget that Batman’s solved every riddle your “genius” mind has ever come up with?
The inevitable invocation of Batman, because apparently even Deathstroke requires another man’s accomplishments to make his arguments for him.
Yes, Slade, he solves them. Eventually. After hours of investigation, several incorrect assumptions, extensive property damage, and the devoted assistance of an entire network of masked adolescents. That is not evidence that my riddles lack sophistication. It is evidence that they require Gotham’s most obsessive detective, unlimited resources, and the combined labor of a small vigilante municipality to unravel.
Besides, the objective of a riddle is to be solved. An unsolvable puzzle is not genius; it is defective construction. The achievement lies in making the answer attainable while ensuring the journey toward it is sufficiently difficult, elegant, and humiliating.
You might understand the distinction if your own problem-solving methodology extended beyond identifying a target and inserting ammunition into it.
But by all means, continue “showing” your intelligence.
Thus far, you’ve demonstrated an ability to repeat Batman’s résumé and mistake terseness for depth.
I don’t know what possesses you to talk like you’re givin’ a speech at the White House all the time, but I do know you’re a goddamn pain in my ass, Nygma.
The only reason I don’t got any triumphs over you t’list is ‘cause I don’t find merit in braggin’ about beatin’ a defenseless twig. It’d be dishonorable.
Oh, Slade, how touching. You’ve mistaken my preference for intellectual confrontation over blunt-force trauma for an inability to defend myself. I assure you, the distinction becomes considerably clearer once the floor beneath you begins asking riddles.
And let us not pretend your sudden concern for “honor” is anything more than a convenient alibi for an empty résumé. You have no triumphs over me because we have never competed- not because some dormant chivalric instinct prevented you from brutalizing the poor, fragile intellectual.
Men like you invoke honor whenever winning would be unimpressive and losing would be humiliating.
As for my manner of speaking, I apologize. I understand sustained thought can sound like a formal address when your usual conversations consist of coordinates, ammunition counts, and monosyllabic threats.
Still, you’ve finally said something interesting.
You believe I’m harmless. Hold on to that belief, Slade. It may be the only advantage I ever give you.
Against me, you are defenseless, Nygma. You think I don’t use brains, but they’re my greatest weapon. Or did you forget I can use 90% of my brain? Where your poor little average human self can only use 10%. Sure, it’s an impressive ten. But still only ten.
We’ve never competed precisely because it’d be dishonorable. As much as I’d love t’put a bullet between your eyes, doin’ it for free when your greatest weapon is a tongue twister’d look pretty bad. I’m a mercenary, Nygma, my reputation’s important.
“As for my manner of speakin’”, Jesus, how hard is it to just say “the way I talk”? Usin’ pretty words and makin’ me scroll through a college thesis don’t prove nothin’ but your proficiency with a thesaurus.
By the almighty, Nygma, will you quit your incessant jabberin’? I swear you never stop talkin’
