I think Kylo has always gone on a roundabout way to tell Rey he wants to be with her, without directly telling her that: TFA: "You need a teacher" (pls don't leave me, I swear I have something to offer you) TLJ: "We can rule the Galaxy together." (Pls marry me) And in TROS he needs to come full circle and finally admit to himself that yes, he is indeed in love without using his feelings shield. And i kind of get it he is afraid of being hurt and doing this leaves him vulnerable

Oh for sure, it is about vulnerability and feelings, but it’s more messed up than that too. Ben has been taught that his innate ability to deeply feel compassion (and love) is dangerous and will destroy everything if he gives into it. This is part of the core story of Star Wars, that gremlins like Snoke and Palpatine have convinced these enormously gifted, empathetic and caring Skywalkers that strength comes from denying their naturally strong compassion.

So Ben is walking a tightrope when it comes to her where he DOES feel AND act on this “unconditional love” “compassion” that Anakin described in AOTC, but he pretends that he doesn’t or pretends he’s not feeling it. I think he gives in while he’s with her, but when he’s alone he has huge scary cognitive dissonance about it. So he needs to discard this Dark Side Teachings stuff too. He equates sentiment with weakness and destruction, and that has to change.

What if what they meant by “[Kylo Ren and Rey’s] Force-connection will turn out to run even deeper than we thought.” went hand in hand with what Rian Johnson said to us before about how, “it’s almost like Rey & Kylo are two halves of the protagonist.” What if their bond connects them so deeply that they essentially do become one with each other? In the sense that they are so in tune and sacronized to each other that it’s like they are like one perfect force. Their strengths and weaknesses working in perfect harmony. Their minds and bodies in sync, balanced and equals in the force.

Like screw anything calling this “politically correct,” this is what the real world literally is.  And the world’s population of children is just as diverse as its adults.  Kids deserve to see themselves represented.  As a disabled person myself, I can’t tell you how much this would have meant to me as a little girl.
