The Press Pool w/Julie Mason

Listen to the Press Pool with Julie Mason weekdays from 3-6 pm ET on SiriusXM's POTUS channel 124

As discussed on the show, the Mason family clam chowder recipe. Feel free to use some heavy cream or whole milk if you like it, I like to go a little lighter. 

4 large potatoes 2 large onions 2 cans minced clams (don’t drain) 1 bottle clam juice 2 cans evaporated milk (I use fat free, but that’s up to you) 2 cups regular milk (or more evaporated milk) coarse black pepper butter

Chop and saute onions in butter Cube potatoes (don’t peel)

In a large stew pot, cook potatoes in clam juice and clams on medium low heat, about 30 minutes or until potatoes are soft. Add onions, cook about 15 minutes.

Slowly add milk, do not let it boil, stir and scrape bottom of pan. Add coarse black pepper and butter.

Serve with corn bread.
