hey y’all! we are alive over here, after a super traumatic and treacherous week. but, we survived the Great Texas Power Outage of 2021, with no power and limited water inside a house that was freezing, literally. a bottle of olive oil frozen on my kitchen counter.

[ i’m having all of the preacher feels right now, so here’s some head canons ! ]

- growing up in new orleans, everyone in the witch/voodoo community knows of angelville and their rival with the boyds. they have their territory, and the coven in new orleans has their’s, and similarly to the truce with marie laveau, her coven made a bargain a long time ago to stay away from each other. period. 

-which is why when tulip is shot, mina can’t go to angelville with them because of who she is and who madam l’angelle is. she literally can’t walk on their property because of warding spells designed to identify other witches. 

-so, she stays back in new orleans. tulip goes to her before going to visit madam boyd, and mina is over joyed to see her alive, but equally angry at jesse for agreeing to the spell. it’s a different kind of magic, and mina doesn’t know how to break the spell, but she agrees to do some research and try to find a way. 

-when cassidy leaves angelville, he comes back to her apartment in the french quarter to lay low and hopefully stay alive. she can’t take him back to the house/school because the girls are there. the last thing she needs is to bring a vampire home and try to explain it to the coven.

-mina and cassidy have relied on each other a lot through this journey from annville to here, and she genuinely cares for him. even though they’ve mostly gotten fucked up and fucked around together, and mina knows about his feelings for tulip, they still share a special bond and she would do anything to protect him, just like she would tulip and jesse. 

-she wants to help them break the spell, but also knows that if/when it happens they are probably going to leave and not come back. mina can’t up and go to bimini, because she has obligations to the coven, the school, and the winchesters (when they show back up). so, she’d be left behind–which breaks her heart.

also i’m on my yearly true.blood rewatch and it’s making me crave writing stuff in that verse again--i have ALL THE SAM FEELS unff.

edit: holy shit i always forget that the reason i get so nostalgic for tb is because my first FIRST version of mina was a vampire in the tb verse. and i used to have a sam that i wrote with and ADORED the relationship we’d developed for them *cries*
