Wilmon for me represents first love, it is so pure, beautiful and come with a lot of insecurities. In the first love everything seems magic, like nothing is impossible. It feels like responsibility don't exists.
Their love is the type that gives butterflies in the stomach, the type that calls the other in the middle of night in the football field, saying that everyone and everything is fake and the only real thing is that he likes the other. it is so cute and pure and brave, like first love.
Even though everything seems possible, for Wilhelm is not. He have a lot of responsibility and pressure on his shoulders, he can't do things that a normal teenager in love would do. He can't say fuck it and ruining away or screaming to the world his love. Everything have to be hide and a secret just because he loves a boy, it is unfair and sad.
For Wilhelm as TEENAGER in the royal family, come out saying his sexuality (not even us know it) for the whole world after losing his brother and a have "sextape" leaked isn't that right thing to do. Obviously we like to think everything will it be fine if he did that.
We are better than the past, but the world still a place that don't accept us. It is become better, but for me, as a person that live in a 3 world country, I have see how hard it is living in a country that have ever single problems, and of course the homophobia it is a big one. I can't say anything about Europe since I never been there, but I have that "impression" that isn't so bad like here. but still hard everywhere, cus I don't think exists a country that doesn't have homophobia.
So Wilhelm's mom teeling him to say that's was not him in the video it is understandable even though is bad situation and shouldn't happen in the "perfect world" we like to think exist.
I like it the fact that's Simon put himself at first place not wanted be anyone secret, given time and space for Wilhelm discover's himself.
I can't imagine how hard was for Simon doing that, and I respect his decision. But it is heartbreaking seen that Wilhelm can't have "love" because of his family or who he is, in the end he it is the one that stay alone, having nothing even though he can have "everything", more than Simon. Wilhelm can't have his own life and freedom.
