       “ hey,  sybill, “  evan said,  offering her a tired echo of her lively smile;   when she was next to him,  he gently knocked his side against hers,  upping the playfulness in body language if his grin wasn’t quite as peppy.   he was happy to see her,  even if the first quidditch practice after tryouts had taken it out of him.   “ you know I’m always happy to give you the gift of my company,  babe,  just say the word. “   it was easy to let his grin broaden naturally when she pulled out her joint and lighter.   he cocked his head at her,  teasing.   “ especially since you always seem to know just what I need.  I won’t even make a shitty joke about us already being pretty high up in the tower. “ 

“the  gift  of  your  company?  if  anything,  you  should  be  happy  that  i  graced  you  with  my  presence.”  she  quipped,  playfully  narrowing  her  eyes  at  him  as  she  extended  her  arm,  offering  the  joint  to  him.  “well,  of  course  i  always  know  exactly  what  you  need.  i’m  only  the  best  seer  to  ever  set  foot  in  hogwarts.”  obviously,  she  was  only  joking  but  she  laughed  and  nudged  her  shoulder  against  his  in  an  attempt  to  make  it  clear  to  him  that  she  wasn’t  being  serious.  the  witch  knew  what  her  peers  said  about  her,  behind  her  back  —  that  she  was  lying  about  her  gift.  and  for  all  she  knew,  she  was,  but  that  didn’t  make  the  presumptions  hurt  any  less.  “you  know,  you’re  lucky  i  like  you.  i  usually  don’t  let  people  who  make  such  shitty  jokes  smoke  my  weed.”

he  scoffed   ,   waving  his  hand  as  if  the  idea  was  ridiculous   .   “   you’d  have  better  luck   .   apparently  i’m   ‘  a  danger  to  myself  and  those  around  me   ′    .   ”   his  words  were  delivered  with  an  exaggerated  old  lady  voice   ,   accompanied  only  by  his  usage  of  air  quotes .   pomfrey  had  never  been  his  biggest  fan   ;   not  with  all  the  broken  bones  and  bloodied  noses  he  caused   .   “  bitch  .   ”

“well,  i  certainly  could  try,  but  i’m  not  going  too.  sounds  like  far  too  much  work.”  she  laughed,  watching  as  he  mimicked  madam  pomfrey  —  sybill  had  only  been  down  to  the  hospital  wing  a  handful  of  times,  but  she  had  hear  plenty  of  stories  about  how  much  of  a  stickler  the  matron  could  be.  “hm...  are  you  a  danger  to  yourself  and  those  around  you?  or  is  that  assumption  completely  unwarranted?”  caradoc  was  only  a  year  ahead  of  her,  but  she  had  never  really  spent  much  time  around  him,  which  made  it  hard  for  her  to  make  any  accurate  judgements  about  his  character.  “you  don’t  seem  like  the  belligerent  type  to  me,  but  what  do  i  know?”

“evan.”  sybill  sighed  as  she  reached  the  top  of  the  steps,  offering  him  a playful  grin  as  she  walked  towards him.  once  she  was  standing  next  to  him,  the  witch  reached  behind  her  ear  and  grabbed  the  joint  that  she  had  stashed  there  earlier,  balancing  it  between  her  thumb  and  pointer  finger.  “just  the  person  i  wanted  to  see.”  after  taking  a  few  moments  to  admire  the  bird’s-eye  view  that  the  tower  provided,  she  fished  around  in  the  back  pocket  of  her  jeans,  eventually  pulling  out  a  lighter.  carefully,  she  placed  the  joint  between  her  lips  and  lit  it,  inhaling  deeply.  “wanna get  high?”  —  @occllumency​
