Boo loved to cause trouble; that little furball really was a devil sent straight from hell. His poor brother, Dobby, would end up all rough housed by the end of the day.
But even then, Momo loved the dog as if he were her own child. It was hard for her to take him on walks; he would find ways to tangle her up and then escape. Like that one time at the park, he ran around her as she stumbled over his leash before falling, her grip loosening. Boo took that moment and ran straight into the nearby pond to attack the ducks. Fortunately, no feathers were damaged that day, but Momo did suffer a pretty nasty bruise on her hip.
Every time she brought Boo to the dorms, he would make a scene. He would destroy the pillows, chew on shoes (Jihyo almost cried when she discovered that her favorite sneakers had been transformed into a new pair of slides), and bark at everything and anything. The dishwasher, the fridge, out the windowâhe would run and drop things along the way. He would torture the unfortunate members until they managed to lure him into Momo's room and lock him in for the remainder of the night.
Even though you had been visiting the dorms for a month, and had been dating Momo for five, you had never seen her dogs. But you were fond of the way she talked about them and how much love she expressed whenever she would gush and show you pictures of them. Although you were able to see Dobby clearly, most of Booâs pictures were just a brown, furry blur.
You never had a pet dog, so you were always cautious around them, unlike others who would grab a dog by the cheeks and squeeze them when passing by. You preferred using a softer technique, such as a gentle pat on the head or perhaps just a simple wave to the dog's owner. But hearing Momo talk about her dogs got you really excited to meet them, even if you were nervous of Booâs energy. And on a random Thursday, Momo decided to invite you over. Saying that sheâs bored and the members are planning a movie night and that she very dearly misses you.
So off you went to meet the girl of your dreams. Momo had completely forgotten she had brought Boo and Dobby with her, and the only thing on her mind was you. She skids towards the door when she hears the doorbell ring and giddily opens the door. "Hey baby!"Â
She engulfs you in a bear hug as you wrap your arms around her, snuggling into her warmth. She helps you take off your coat and notices you're still wearing your work clothes.
"Go to my room and take out a pair of pjs; the girls are getting everything ready. White dresser, second drawer from the bottom. Meet me in the living room, lovey" You slighty blush at the nickname and Momo pinches your cheeks before letting you go. You walk past the living room, waving and greeting the girls, before making your way to Momoâs room.
As soon as you enter Momoâs room you begin to rummage through her pajamas before finding a fluffy pair and putting them on. Midway into your pants, you hear a soft yip behind you. The sudden sound startled you as you quickly turned around to see where the sound came from.
And thatâs the moment you make eye contact with Momoâs dog. You can tell by the fur color that Boo is the one awake. Dobby peacefully sleeps next to where Boo has just woken up. Momoâs words echo in the back of your mind:

Shit. You begin to feel nervous and uneasy as he takes small, extremely condescending steps in your direction.
"H-hey little guy" You stammer out. Slowly, you reach down to softly pet his head, and he comes closer to smell your hand before rubbing against it. You were confused by what Momo meant when she said he was so hyper. Boo is absolutely adorable. You giggle when he licks your hand, and you begin to become less cautious when patting his head. You start to rub behind his ears as he leans closer to you. And you totally forget about going back out to start movie night and instead choose to spend some time doting over this lovable dog.Â
Momo, however, noticed how long you were gone.Â
"Gosh, Iâm so tired," Jeongyeon groans, falling onto the couch, "Momoâs fucking demon dog ate my lunch, and I had to make another one, twice!" she scoffs.
Then it hits her, "I sent y/n to my room." All the girls stare at her, wide-eyed.
"You just sent your partner to their death," Dahyun mumbles.
"I was just starting to like them too," Tzuyu grumbles, sitting on the couch, crossing her arms.
Momo rolls her eyes at them before making her way into her room.
She dreads the thought of hearing growls from her room. But the deafening silence that appears seems to worry her even more. God damn it, sheâs too late. She'll have to find a place to bury the body.
Quickly, she pushes the door open and witnesses a sight that sheâd never thought she would see. Boo was letting you pet him, like you were actually caressing him. He nuzzled into your lap as you smoothed his fur.

"Hi Momo, you didnât tell me you brought your dogs with you." You stand up with Boo in your arms. "Heâs so cute." Boo softly yips once again as you begin to dot on him. "Oh yes, you are such a cute little puppy, so gentle and soft." He licks your finger when you poke him on the nose.
"Ah haha" Momoâs confused and worried laugh breaks your attention: "The girls are ready for movie night, so I suggest leaving the calm and charming," She grits the words through her teeth, "Boo here, so he-"
"Aww Momo, please," you whine, "can we watch the movie with him? I promise he wonât be bothersome, right boo?" You turn to the dog.
Did he just fucking nod? Momo thought her right eye twitched a bit. Heâs trying to steal my lover; what a mutt. Her fists slightly clench. "Yes, of course, anything you want, love." She feigns her preppy attitude while you follow her to the living room. Boo still in your arms his head on his shoulder as he looks back at Momo. He pushes his tongue out, which causes Momo to glare at him and do the same.
"Holy shit," Jeongyeon says, once you walk in, everyoneâs eyes zero down onto the dog in your arms.Â
"They tamed the beast," Sana mutters, and they all watch as you set Boo on the floor before taking a seat on the couch. They all watch as your arms make their way to lift him up, and they all wince at whatâs to come. But thereâs not a single growl, bark, or bite, just a content grumble as you begin to pet him.

It was tragic really. Dahyun expected that death would make an appearance in the incoming mission. It was bound to happen. But she couldnât accept that it was you. Out of everyone, it had to be you. She hated how selfless you were, hated how stubborn you were, and hated how you said that the mission needed to be completed or she'd end up being the one in trouble. She desperately wanted you to stay, but no one knew the building was just a hoax and that bombs lay within the walls, under the tables, and in the lights. That you would be in the middle of the blast.Â
She quit the next dayâno more missions, no more secret agencies, no more high-level defense government jobs. Sheâs done, because she couldnât stand to work in a place that had killed you. A place that reminded her that she killed you.
"It should have been me."
She regrets letting you go alone; she regrets that she was so struck by the situation that she couldnât move; she regrets not dying with you, as the two of you held one another as the explosions bombed around you and as one last kiss would be shared before succumbing within the fire and rubble. Stepping out of her car, she gets her keys ready to unlock the door, only to notice a piece of paper stuck on the handle. A letter sealed with a very familiar symbol.

Her microwave begins to beep, and she takes a deep breath before preparing the food. She sets the cup in front of the seat next to her before getting a sudden call. She doesnât even look at the caller ID, knowing who it is.
Only one person ever calls her anyway.

"Are you going?"
"Well, itâs nice to hear from you too." Dahyun mumbles, and she hears a scoff from the other side of the phone.
"Ya, ya, whatever. So are you going or not?" Jihyo continues to ask.Â

One week had gone by, and Dahyun didnât even bat an eye at the thought of going. It was just stored in the back of her mind; she had three more days left to decide, and she plans to leave it for the last day.
That way, by then, sheâll have the what's done is done mindset.
She also gave up on therapy, probably because the next closest one is about a two-hour drive away and sheâs not willing to waste gas money on something she knows wonât turn out the way she wants it to.
Therapy doesnât work on her; it never did and it never will. She figured if thatâs what normal people do, then she ought to try it out. But that led to more disappointment.
None of these professionals knew her backstory; none of them knew how she felt looking at you and seeing you disappear for good the next second. None of them knew how she was made to be who she is. They just didnât understand.
She sat on the couch, scrolling through different channels; the cup of ramen from last week sat in the same spot, along with many, many others. Still filled with food left untouched. Some were so old that they had begun to mold.
She sat and thought for three days; an annoying beeping noise rang in her ears, and she desperately needed to rest. Her eyes dropped as her body slightly limped. Her mind wasnât working correctly, and everything that happened was rehearsed; sheâs done it many times before. She would take the letter and stick it underneath her welcome mat. "May I please get everyoneâs attention?" a man in a bright blue suit spoke into the mic. And everyoneâs chatter began to quiet down.
"Thank you, thank you. As you all know, weâre all gathered here to celebrate S.S.K.O.âs 100th anniversary!" The room was filled with cheers and applause.
"Yes yes. What a wonderful feat this organization has accomplished! Weâve come a long way, and we plan to go on for even longer! Double! No, triple as long!" This time the cheers got louder as the man continued to hype them up.
"Our organization specializes in artificial intelligence and their use on the field; it helps us stay on the low ground back at base while less of us are in danger during missions," the man continued.
"We have come a long way, with many ups and downs, but Iâd like to present you all with our latest robots!" Dahyun felt intrigued; the organization had quit AI production after the incident. And she was excited to see these new robots, wondering if they'd have emotions like...
The robots suddenly rose onto the stage. They all looked different; they could easily fit in with the crowd if they wanted to, if it werenât for the matching suits they all wore. Various skin tones, hair colors, and genders stood on the stage. They looked so real, that in Dahyunâs eyes she could just see people standing on the stage, not robots.Â
Her eyes gazed at the different faces before they stopped on one. Your face. They used your fucking face. They used your body. Now that she thinks about it, a lot of these robots look familiar; many look like past subordinates who had died on the job. They used dead people as their models.
Dahyun gasped as she stared back at you, well, at the robot you. She almost doesnât comprehend what the announcer said: "These robots will now join the party! Feel free to speak with them; theyâll reply back with their built-in computers".
"I need to go to the bathroom," she mumbles to Jihyo before running off.

Theyâre fucking using your face as one of their stupid tools. They think they could just do that? Steal from her? Dahyun stared into the mirror, her makeup had started to run due to her splashing water onto her face. Â
Thank god she was the only one in the bathroom or else this would have been embarrassing. She took out her small makeup bag and began to fix herself up again. She thought of the time when you first showed her makeup. How curious she had been, it was fun playing with it that night, you had stolen an eyeshadow pallet from one of your field partners. You and Dahyun had spent the night in one of the barrack bathrooms giggling to yourselves as you drew hearts on her cheeks with the bright red shade. And how she would use it to tint her lips until you showed her what eyeshadow was actually made for, and got her some actual lipstick.
 But whereâs the fun in that? Is what you would always say. We need to use things differently, thatâs what humanity has done all their lives, why makes you any different.Â

After everything was touched up, Dahyun had prepared to leave. She takes a deep breath before stepping out into the hallway and making her way back. But just as she rounds the corner, she bumps into someone.

She squeezes her eyes shut; they even used your voice. They had too, didnât they? She shoves your arms away, "Iâm fine, thank youâŠâ she raises her eyebrow indicating some sort of name.

It was like any other late night with the girls. Drinking with a corny drama on, snacks around, gossip between lips and ears... Just like any other night.
But as it was approaching its end, she noticed Sana staying back a little longer than usual. Normally, she'd be the fourth one to leave right after Dahyun, Mina and Tzuyu, but here she was⊠Still sitting on the couch, cup of tea in hand, watching Nayeon and Momo argue about which character is the best in this drama she barely paid attention to.
After bidding her goodbyes to the rest of the girls and shooing Jeongyeon out because no way in hell she's gonna do her dishes at 3 a.m., Jihyo stayed at the door.

She knew something was wrong.
Jihyo kept an eye on her the whole night. Sana in her corner, hiding behind her hot beverage, her mind clearly elsewhere. She didn't even hear her speak once nor let out her sweet laugh. Absolutely nothing.
This wasn't like her.
"I can see you staring at me, Jihyo."
With a sharp intake of breath, she straightened herself and slowly made her way to the couch.
"What? Like you have eyes at the back of your head?" she chuckled, trying her very best to lift the mood up a bit.
She hated how heavy the atmosphere was. It wasn't hostile or anything, but just... deeply gloomy. Like all the light has been sucked into a dark hole.
"I can see your reflection in the TV screen."
So much for lifting the mood, Jihyo.
She sat beside her and held her breath. Jihyo's never been the one to ask how someone's doing. Or to be pushy and force someone to open up to her. She's the type of person to just sit and wait for the worst and then try her best to fix the mess.

She wasn't surprised to see her look at her with big, worried eyes. She is her best friend after all. Maybe something more, but that's another thing they might never talk about.
"I know you think there's something wrong, Ji."
"Because there is."
They stared at each other. Jihyo's jaw clenched and a crease formed between her brows. Sana's face softened.
"I don't like when you worry."
"Well, give me a reason not to! It feels like I'm losing you. There's something wrong, Sana!"
"I know."

Jihyo seemed out of breath, her face red and her chest rising and falling at a rapid pace.

Jihyo reached for her hand and interlocked their fingers.
This is what Sana hated the most. Make others worry.
"I haven't been well and it's so silly," a squeeze of the hand and a peck to the palm, "I think the issue is my heart. It's too big... I have this want to give and give and not expect anything and return and it feels like I'm losing myself in this."
Jihyo nodded and pulled her closer, legs touching.
"It's like I love so hard to the point it pains me. I never tell others that I'm not doing well. I don't want them to worry about me. I want to be good for them, be someone they don't have to check up on because they know they're okay."
She felt Jihyo's thumb pass over her cheek. She didn't realize she was crying.
"And then, with this stupid big heart... I forgive and forgive and give too many chances. I can't stop seeing the good in people and I can't stop getting fooled. Every time I get hurt, the scar gets bigger, but the heart gets bigger too. It's never-ending, Jihyo. I always fall back into this bottomless pit."
Jihyo slipped her arms around and hugged her hard.
"It hurts."
"Of course it hurts... It feels like my whole entire being has been ripped apart," Sana answered with the smallest broken voice. Tears threatening to spill at the next blink, "I never knew evil would be coming from within."
"Sana, baby..."
"And then there's this voice telling me to stop complaining and be grateful because look where you are now. It's just so hard and I'm so tired. I want my heart to belong to me and not the world. I want my heart back."
Jihyo cradled Sana's face with inexplicable tenderness.
"This heart never left you, my angel. It's there," Jihyo trapped Sana's hand under hers, pressing it against her chest, "beating so loud. It's okay to be full of love. Now it's time to know exactly where to put it. It's okay to make mistakes. You're learning. And you have people who love you just as much. Don't ever doubt that. That heart is yours and will always be, Sana. You are so incredibly strong."
She let out a wet laugh, not believing the next words coming out of her mouth, "I love you, Jihyo."
She smiled and shook her head, "I know. And I love you too, Sana. So much."

âI won, I won!â She got up and jumped, her arms flapping with excitement.Â

This was boring. You never understood why you took on scouting missions, there would be no fight, no drama, nothing. But you wouldnât disagree that the room was stunning.Â
Silk sheeted tables were placed around the dance floor, the bar in the corner, waiters came and went, and the large crystal embellished chandeliers hung from the towering ceilings. The orchestra played beautifully behind the dance floor, their songs embodied the royal ambience of the room. They played old russian waltz, czards, and even swan lake, which surprised you. These songs remind you of your mother and father, and their record player back at home. Who knew a masked masquerade would give you so much nostalgia.Â
You sighed, having nothing to do swirling your glass of sparkling water and playing with your mask was the only form of entertainment as you sat alone, your comrades had taken it upon them to go dance. All while you âkeep watchâ.Â
âCare to dance with me, pretty ladyâ You turn to see another woman, their mask shaped like a bunny, its silver ears pointed high, matched the lovely silver dress and the feathered scarf of the person in front of you. It hugged her curves in just the right places, and her sterling rings can only show how much power this person holds as itâs held in front of you. You could only stare.Â
âI canât stand by and not invite such a stunning woman as yourself for a waltz on the floorâ Her red tinted lips formed a smirk. You stare into her eyes and they hold something sinister, something that draws you in. You grasp her hand, it would be suspicious if you refused âthe pleasure would be mineâ.Â
The song was slow, her hand gripped yours firmly as you followed the rhythmic music, spinning, swaying, and stepping. Her eyes were enchanting, the chocolate brown so sweet yet so bitter, a taste which seems familiar, but you canât seem to pinpoint how.Â
The pace suddenly changed, a new song, a faster waltz, her hand fell down to your waist as yours went up to her shoulder, the stepping, the swaying, the spinning, it all got faster. You thank your father for teaching you at such a young age, otherwise you would have been stumbling over your dress.Â
And just like that the song was over, and everyone went into applause. âYou danced magnificently, darlingâ the girl mused, her arm still wrapped around your waist as she walks you off the dance floor, âWhere did such a pretty girl like you learn to dance so gracefullyâÂ

Nayeon had woken up with a groan, her arms and legs tied to the chair. She looks to her right and sees you. âY/N?â She whispered, sheâd never seen you like this. Your eyes were blown wide, staring straight, tears flowed down your cheeks, but you stayed still as they traveled down to your chin, dying on your shirt.Â
She followed your eyes to be met with your parents. They were on the other side of the wall, it seems like they couldnât see either of you, must be an one way glass. Yes, she has mentioned your parents in the past, but she never, ever, planned on harming them. Whoever did this will pay, they will suffer just as much theyâve made you suffer.
She hears you begin to sniffle, then you begin to yell. You scream for your parents, and Nayeon stares wide eyed. She feels useless.Â
âY/Nâ Her whispers die on her lips âplease calm-â the door slams open and in walks the man Nayeon never should have trusted. Your screams immediately stop.Â
âSunnyâ she glares hard, she hates the neon red color, the fire in his hair canât compare to the fire behind her eyes. âIâll end you, youâll wish you never would have met meâÂ

And just as the two of you begin to walk out a soft mumble escapes her lips, âmommyâ. You hum softly, âyes sweetieâ
âWhat happened after, to the hero and the villain?â,Â
âOh?â you look at Nayeon for some help, she smiles, âthe hero told the villain how much she loves her and the villain felt the same way and gave up being badâ she holds your hand looking into your eyes, âall for the heroâ.Â

You two walk into the master bedroom and start preparing for bed, as you do your nightly routine in front of the vanity mirror, Nayeon leans into you from behind.Â
âYou changed some partsâ She mumbles into your neck, âwhat was that darling?â you turn around pulling her closer to you.Â

âGuess who just booked us a trip to Hawaii?â Nayeon burst into the room, phone in her hands showing everyone first class plane tickets.
âReally?!â Sana squealed getting up rushing towards Nayeon followed by everyone else. You however merely pouted, the girls always go on work related trips so it wasnât anything new for you. You were just saddened by the thought of being alone for the next few days.
Jeongyeon sat next to you, her fingers running through your hair. âWhy the long face arenât you excited?â
You were confused, âof course Iâm happy for you girls" you turn on your protective girlfriend mode and give them the same speech before any of their trips.

The girls look at you with pure admiration in their eyes as you continue to gush about this upcoming trip.

Youâve never seen first class seats in person and what astonished you was how much leg room you had. You swung your feet as you sat down and just couldnât keep yourself from peeping into the little compartments of your seat.
You were sat between Tzuyu and Mina, only an aisle separating you from them. You were a giggly mess.

She canât decide whether youâve noticed, but Tzuyu couldnât take her eyes off you. Once the plane had stabilized and everyone was free to take their seatbelts off, you were quick to press the button for assistance. Both Tzuyu and Mina noticed this and got worried if something went wrong.

You notice the flight attendant walking dow the aisle towards you, not before stopping at what you presumed Jihyo's seat as she hands a passenger a bottle of soju. "Here you go ma'am, enjoy"
As you take a sip, you let out a sigh of satisfaction, leaning into your seat, putting on some headphones and turning on some titanic. You can't wait for this trip to start.
