Good Afternoon Everyone! This past weekend, we held our 2nd Annual NROTC Golf Tournament, which was way bigger than last year. It was really cold, which was annoying, but everyone had fun!! Also, my cousins and my parents were on a team together, and they made custom shirts for their team... They were honestly really funny, I'm not going to lie, the only good use of AI lol. I chose not to play in the tournament, so I ended up selling mulligans and rope, then walked around and took pictures, so I had a pretty chill day. It was so fun, I highly recommend signing up next year (we also have cool raffle prizes)!! I was a part of the committee this year, so part of me is glad it's over, but also excited that it did so well.

Me and my freind Avery also made one of my seniors' senior gifts for the end of the semester. He has a $250 budget, and he chose a free potato sack from the Dust Bowl Era. I'm not even joking. The Dust Bowl Era. We painted what he wanted on it, which it honestly turned out way better than we thought it would. I was so nervous for the skull and EGA, but it turned out better than expected.

Anyways I hope you guys crush your finals and have an amazing summer break!!

Goooood Afternoon Everyone,

I don't really have any life updates other than we had mess night on Friday, which is pretty much just where if you have any grievances or problems with anyone in your battalion, you take it out there. It's pretty fun actually. Someone had lynched my labubu earlier in the semester, and I found out who it was at the event. They had a really funny punishment to crawl like a snake to the grog (a nasty concoction you drink if you have a punishment), which made me feel SO much better about the situation. #stoplabubuviolence

Anyway, their punishment was completely justified because they also locked their feet. I hope you all have a good week and weekend!!

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you're all having a good week! This past week was pretty overwhelming, chill, and fun at the same time.

My friend from Denmark was visiting for the past two weeks, and she left on Monday. We said goodbye with our usual noodles visit and ice cream after it, which was kinda sad but nice at the same time.

I also had to run 6.25 miles on a track this past Friday, and it was 100% a mental game, IT WAS HEINOUS. Probably the most I've ever run on a track honestly, it sucked, but it also wasn't as bad as I thought it would've been.

This weekend I went home and worked mostly on homework to fully catch up, which I'm still not. On Sunday, my parents and I went to brunch with my grandparents at First Watch (amazing breakfast place btw). What was even better was it was by village point so we went to marshalls, homegoods, barnes & noble, michaels, and we finished off with getting boba. Literally all of my favorite places back to back.

Happy Easter Everyone!!

I hope you've all had a good week. This past week has been stressful of just trying to catch up on work and a couple of exams which is annoying.

Although it's been stressful its also been pretty fun. On Tuesday night, I went to a bbno$ concert with my brother, which was awesome. It was so loud, but I'm just really happy we had seats and weren't in the pit. There were so many people, and the blisters on my feet would not have been able to handle that. The concert was so random, too. Not only were there two medical cases, so the concert was paused, but there was a gender reveal, and a couple got engaged, literally wtf.

For Easter Sunday, I had both sides of my family come over. My cousin just had a baby last month, and she is ADORABLE. Her name is Bria, and this is the first time I've gotten to hold her. She's so precious. The food was amazing as always, and my aunt made my favorite dessert, which is snicker salad. It's basically a fluffy vanilla pudding with Snickers in it, DELICIOUS.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!

Spring break just ended and its actually really sad to come back I'm not gonna lie. For some reason, I really didn't even miss my friends that much, but now that I'm back, I really miss my family.

BTS dropped their new album, and it's actually amazing. I do think that it's an acquired taste, but it definitely is one of my favorites they've made. Body to Body, FYA, and Like Animals are probably my favorites, and I've had Body to Body on repeat for the last few days.

I also got to go see the new movie Hail Mary with Ryan Gosling. Honestly, every emotion was felt, and the ending was adorable, but I'm not going to spoil it there anymore. Rocky was adorable, and now I want an alien like it.

Nebraska won both its games this weekend, too, for March Madness, which is EXCITING. #GOBIGRED It's crazy, though, because now we play Iowa in the Sweet 16, which was not expected, but slay anyways.

Overall, it was a really chill and fun spring break, which was a nice reset, because this weekend we have our FEX in Iowa. We will be gone for 4 days, and I'll miss the Nebraska vs. Iowa basketball game, which is highkey upsetting, but oh well. Just the fact that I'll be in Iowa during it, too, is disgusting.

Good Evening Everyoneee,

I hope everyone is having a good spring break! I've been spending the week at home with my parents, more of a staycation, which was very needed. I can't add any photos this week because, unfortunately, last Thursday, I tripped and sent my laptop flying, and it landed on its side, so the screen shattered. I'm currently using a loaner from the University. This sucks extra because I haven't had my OG laptop all break which is really testing my patience, especially since my AirPods won't sync to the university's loaner.

On a positive note, however is I've gotten 9+ hours of sleep the past 3 days, which is so nice because I normally average 3-5 per night during the school year. I've also gotten to spend more time with my parents and dogs, which is amazing.

BONUS is BTS drops a new album this week, and I couldn't be more excited. Their world tour starts next week as well, which is SO exciting because this is their first group comeback since they left a couple years ago for their mandatory military service.

Colorado Meet

Hey everyone,

This past weekend, we attended the NROTC Colorado Drill Meet. Essentially, what that is is schools from across the country come to compete in multiple competitions that display basic military skills. The events consist of Drill, Color Guard, a knowledge competition, E-Team (endurance team), and the shooting team. Nebraska overall did really well in the end.

We placed:

1st in Rifle Shooting

2nd in Color Guard

3rd in E-Team

4th in Drill

This competition was out of 30 schools for each event, which is a huge deal to place, especially on the E-team. The e-team is the most difficult part of the meet, in my opinion. Our team killed it for this portion. There are 6 people on the team from each school, and 1 member has to be a female. The competition for the meet consisted of a pool portion on Friday, then rucking over 17+ miles with packs weighing 25-50lbs while doing calisthenic exercises throughout, plus different workouts in between on Saturday. The first two teams were from Colorado, the University of Colorado, and the Air Force Academy. They both train on the mountains, the race is on, and they are also used to the altitude change, which makes our team's placing 3rd even more impressive.

Aside from the competition itself, we got to explore Boulder, Colorado, a bit, which was really fun. We had all different kinds of food that I would highly recommend if you haven't been. Mason's Dumpling Store, L&L, Crepe Therapy, and Golden Sun. We also got to explore Pearl Street (their downtown), but it was during a little snowstorm, so it was hard to even see anything. These are all of my favorite places we went this weekend. I have a friend in the NROTC program there, too, so we spent some time with her as well, which was really fun. Overall, the trip was a great experience!

Hey everyone,

I don't really have any fun weekly updates, honestly, so I've decided to just post my favorite TikTok post reaction photos. My favorite has to be the "rat clenches fist in rage." I feel as though that really embodies my mood most of the time. This honestly has to be the best update on TikTok where you can add photos to the comments, now most of the comments are actually funnier than the video itself.

The past week has mostly just been doing homework and playing a couple of games with friends over the weekend. On Friday, I played pickleball with a few friends, and then on Sunday, I played volleyball for the first time in forever. It's such a wake-up call to have a ball spiked at your face by a 6ft guy when you're not expecting it. All jokes, but it was actually really fun.

Heyyyy everyone

This week's blog will pretty much just be how the USA Women's hockey team put BTA against Canada's team during the final of the Winter Olympics, winning GOLD. Now I'm not huge on winter sports or extremely patriotic half the time BUT when other countries threaten our ability to clock them, that patriotic feeling comes out. ESPECIALLY against Canada in hockey when that's "their sport." 🥇🥇

Continuing on the Winter Olympics MISS LIU ALYSA performed beautifully clutching up the gold medal in the final rounds of figure skating. She is such a strong person to represent women's sports, especially as a queen of alternative vibes, AND she RADIATES sportsmanship. Not only was she supportive of her own teammates, who were her competition, but she was also overjoyed for other competitors, cheering them on during their performances. Her story is actually super interesting because she was a star and competed in the Olympics when she was younger, took a hiatus/quit essentially from competing, and finally came back this year "for fun." She genuinely is the definition of an amazing woman that I know so many young girls look up to. 🥇🥇

I'd touch on men's sports and topics, too, but there really haven't been any breakthroughs or gold medals for them that stand out. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Hey everyone, this blog will kinda just be about my workouts this week!!

This week was chill, just a lot of stuff building up overtime which is a lil stressful. My favorite thing I did during the week was probably go on a short ruck with my friend Abby. The sunset was GORGEOUS. The ruck was about 3.5 miles around Pawnee Lake. I only carried about 35lbs while she had about 60lbs.

I also tried pilates for the first time this week, and I think I put my body in positions I never want to be in again. I thought I would give it a shot, but I didn't even come out of it feeling tired, but rather more like it would just give me everlasting hip problems. That probably says more about my bad flexibility than anything else, though. 😭😭

One annoying thing this week was that I was only able to go to the gym 3x because of the amount of homework and other commitments I had. Normally, I like going at least 4-5x a week with Thursdays and Saturdays/Sundays as rest days. My split doesn't really exist because I try to hit full body every time I go. I found that when I isolate my muscle groups, I never hit them again that week, making my gym progress kind of pointless and SLOW. 🤟🤟

Notre Dame Leadership Conference

Helloooo, this past weekend I attended the Notre Dame Leadership Conference in South Bend, Indiana. I'm currently in the NROTC program at the University of Lincoln, NE, which provided me with this opportunity. Notre Dame set a limit of 4 students from each school to attend, which it just so happened that all 4 of us are really close.

The conference lasted over a two day period, plus traveling, so it was four days total. Essentially, it consisted of a total of 6 guest speakers. 3 highly ranked Navy service members, and 3 highly ranked Marine Corps service members, who spoke on their own leadership styles and the journey they've had in the military. It was very influential.

Besides the speakers, we got to explore Notre Dame's Campus and their down town area. My favorite parts of the campus were probably the golden dome and the overall architecture of the campus; it was beautiful. We took photos in front of a few key areas, such as the golden dome, "touchdown Jesus," and the church. It was so cold at Notre Dame, I even got to climb a snow mountain that had been accumulating over the winter. The second day, the Marine Options had a mandatory PT to attend. It was in their indoor track, which was really cool.

To end the weekend, we had the Keynote dinner, which is where a retired Brigadier General from the USMC came and spoke to us, talking about his journey and leadership advice, before we ended the weekend with a nice dinner. He was very influential, and I definitely learned a lot from this past weekend. I also made a lot of new friends from different schools (mainly East Coast schools), such as MIT, Harvard, Embry-Riddle, Wisconsin, and even the Naval Academy. Everyone was really sweet, and I can't wait to see them potentially over the summer!!

Kpop Nighttt

This past weekend, it was Kpop Night at the Bourbon Theater. Me and my friends went last fall for the first time, and it was so fun so obviously we had to go for a second time. We even got to speak with one of the DJ's after which was sick, she was so sweet. They played a bunch of different groups music, a lot of girl groups. 🪩🪩

One thing about Kpop night is at the beginning theres a lot of kids who go with their parents because they love Kpop Demon Hunters, and they played a few of their songs for the kids which was adorable. The kids tend to leave by 10:30 though which is nice. At one point these two little girls were in front of me and my friend Lexi while we were dancing and we noticed them staring at us so we said hi. They both said they loved our outfits and called us pretty and honestly that made my night they were ADORABLE. 💕💕

They ended the night with one of me and my friends favorite songs MIROH by Stray Kids, which is probably the most Stray Kids Stray Kid song if that even makes sense. Definitely a night to remember FOR SURE. 🤟🤟

Hii everyone, I'm Sydney. This is kind of an introduction to myself and my hobbies, which I think is what I'll be making my blog about.

A few of my hobbies include: going to the gym, reading, puzzles, scrapbooking, watching shows/movies, listening to music, and hanging out with friends. I feel as though I look like your basic white girl that doesn't have a nerdy, geeky side, but you could probably bring up any topic with me, and I could hold an hour long conversation with you about it. If I don't know anything about the topic, I would probably ask you hundreds of questions about it if it piqued my interest. This ranges on the spectrum from sports (college and professional), to K-pop, anime, Marvel, DC, fantasy books, plants, animals, crafts, dystopian shows/movies, romance films, Kdramas, Sidemen, Kevin Lanuge, reality TV shows, etc.

This weeks blog will be about my K-pop obsession, as two of my favorite groups are dropping new albums in the upcoming weeks. My overall favorite group (ult group) is Stray Kids. I went to their concert this summer, and it was the best experience of my life. It was my first K-pop concert, and I went with my best friend. Sometimes it makes me laugh because everyone always says how cool Coldplay concerts are with the atmosphere and light-up wrist bands, but that's just your average k-pop concert. Honestly, if you haven't been, I highly recommend.

Anyways, Enhypen is another one of my favorite groups, and they dropped a new album this past week called The Sin: Vanish. It has a really cool concept involving their lore of the supernatural. Overall, I would rate the album a 7/10, it's not their best, but there's still a couple of songs that I would reccomend which are "Lost Island" and "No Way Back."
