sokka was never actually sexist. he was raised in a sexist environment that taught him that women couldn't fight and that men had to be their protectors. when his father left him behind to go fight he told him he had to be the one to protect their people. his attitude came from what most likely started as a facade to show everyone he wasn't scared as he shouldered the responsibility of being the sole protector left. it developed as he did, and as a 16 year old you are totally an asshole because you're insecure usually and who wouldn't be being the only man left. he never wanted to seem weak in front of everyone because of his own internal struggle with the idea that he didn't go to war because he was too young, but because he was too weak. it takes literally one fight with a girl he hasn't been raised around for him to ask her to teach him, start respecting and even defending women when other men are shitty to them, and acknowledging the power that they hold. he literally falls in love with the girl who beats him up. in this essay i will-
