I like the social aspect of running and it’s always a challenge to run a little faster.

The spirit of guiding fellow runners to their goals is invigorating.
Why do you run?
If the cure for anything is salt water, sweat, tears or the sea, I choose to sweat it out (any day) over a good old jog!

7 marathons. 20+ half marathons, mostly at the end of a triathlon!
What do you like about pacing?
I enjoy meeting new people during the run and helping them achieve their running goals. I have also benefited from running with Sydney Striders pacers in other races, so I am more than happy to volunteer for the Club and help others do the same.
Why do you run?
Running is a great way to stay fit, keep active and socialise with friends.

7/I’ve lost count!
What do you like about pacing?
I enjoy the challenge of trying to set the perfect pace: Not too fast early, and not too slow in the middle. I also love pushing my group for a final surge in the closing stages.
Why do you run?
Some days I love to run fast….while on others I enjoy ambling along a trail in the sun. It’s the perfect balance.

What do you like about pacing?
It’s a gifted opportunity where I am helping fellow runners to reach their goal either be a PB or an accomplishment of finishing the race successfully. It gives me an opportunity to meet new people and chat to them whilst running on the course. At the end, the satisfaction of meeting a goal and completing a run on a great course.
Why do you run?
There are several reasons apart from health benefits for which I run. Firstly, it was a challenge for me to show both my detractors and well-wishers that when someone is sidelined, ignored and isolated, they can still rise. Secondly, it has helped me to make several friends across the globe.

Why do you run?
I’ve only started running a couple of years ago and I’m loving it! I’m a competitive person and enjoy setting new goals and challenges for myself. There is nothing better than the feeling of accomplishment when crossing the finish line.

What do you like about pacing?
2 hours is my favourite pace group. I enjoy helping runners to achieve their goal time, and also listening to their stories on how they started running (and what they plan to eat and treat themselves after the race!)

My personal best Half is 98 minutes in 1995 – though I did 104.5 minutes last week in Homebush – a small fade in 22 years

I have only run 10 marathons but hundreds of Halves – love the distance and my body copes well with the time
What do you like about pacing?
I really enjoy helping other achieve their target – the running community is full of wonderful people
Why do you run?
Basically to keep fit and stay trim – besides I love to eat and drink – so I have managed to stay in the same weight range most of my adult life and the physical benefits of running and very clear to see.

Been running Half Marathons since 2007 but my favourite Half is the Sydney Blackmores Half.
Ran at least 12 Half Marathons.
What do you like about pacing?
This is my first time pacing. But I ran with a Pacer for the Canberra Marathon & Gold Coast Marathon & I remember how grateful I was to them for not only pacing me but also being so motivated especially when the going gets tough and we were struggling. I want to help people achieve their Personal Best. I’m been a PT for 10 years & I love helping people realize dreams do come true!
Why do you run?
I love to run because it’s my ME time where I can be free to run on my own or run with my friends from Striders. It’s invigorating & keeps me fit and healthy in mind, body & soul.
