you fall in with a boy and it burns. he drapes his wrists over your shoulders / and kisses you 'till you can't breathe and all the while you're thinking,

icarus flew too close to the sun and am flying too close to you.

you love him like the sun loves the sky and ink loves the quill, like there's nothing in the world / but him and his hair spilling out across the sheets as you press him into the mattress.

you would watch the world burn to keep him safe, you would jump in front of a bullet and / let them kill you and over again to keep him alive, and that should scare you but it doesn't.

it doesn't because it's him- it's only ever been him.
