Jia was not exactly sure how she had ended up in this situation. Not that long ago, her only real connection to Danny had been a cameo she had done with EBB. Yes, they had gotten along and had bonded casually since then. But, after showing him that decent piña coladas could be made in Korea if you were properly motivated, she had started talking about her first mini album.
After a few more drinks (which she had only managed to mix because she snuck behind the open bar), she had clapped her hands excitedly and told Danny about how they had even managed to get one of her favorite song writers for the Korean single. She had gushed to him, only for Danny to kiss her midsentence. Then a lot more.
They had both been avoiding each other since then. The one place Jia thought she would be safe was the Orion building. But, apparently this was not the case. She had turned the corner and had accidentally slammed into someone. She apologized and managed to stutter something out.
“Danny… What are you doing here?”
What are you doing here? That was a question Danny encountered frequently. From his teachers, his manager, his members... Somehow it seemed so much worse spilling from the lips of the last girl he’d spent the night with. It stung of the embarrassment he felt the next morning, running away from the consequences of his drunken actions with a now buttonless button-up and rope burns on his wrists.
“I, um, well—” Danny could barely manage to form words. Of course, he had a perfectly legitimate reason to be at the Orion building. His managers wanted him to do a variety appearance with Bobby. They thought it was an organic match. So much chaos could only result in entertaining television. Danny had come along to the meeting discuss the logistics so he could meet Bobby. Just to meet Bobby. No other reason. There wasn’t a beautiful girl he was hoping, but not hoping, to run into.
“Uh, you know,” Danny said with a shrug and a shakey voice. “Just... hanging out. How are you, I mean, what are you doing here? Or like, up to? Things been... good?”
He cringed as soon as the words left his lips. If there was a cliff available for him to jump off, he’d do it in a heartbeat, just to get away from this situation. He was an idiot. He knew it, and Jia must have too.
