     [ Guess who made their first batch of yogurt? Me :D I was a bit nervous how it would turn out but like the cheese, it was FAR easier than I feared, ahaha~ For now it’s just plain but I’ve found several ways I can flavor it, so that’s gonna be awesome n_n (the lil dent was from me taste testing, eh heh heh). It took 2 quarts of milk to make and honestly lost very little to whey, so we got about that much finished yogurt, I believe! And the neat thing is we can keep making it so long as we have a bit left over for starter!

     Also I FORGOT to post this lil update: we had a MASSIVE egg back on the second! The pic here is that one compared to the very first, aka the smallest. It was slightly bigger than a large store-bought egg we still had at the time x’D Most of the eggs have been pretty small, around 1.2-1.5 ounces, with some being 1.5-2.0, but this one was a whopping 2.9! And the fifth was our first day have three eggs in one day - getting there! The average egg weight should be going up as we go - not quite sure atm how many of the five hens are laying yet but I think we’re close, if not already to all five laying. So that’s exciting! Getting more and more self sufficient n_n ]

     I don’t know who laid it, it was already in the coop when I let them out this morning, but YES! FIRST EGG! I’m so proud ;w; Now begins the flood, hahaha! It’s a bit teeny but that’s okay, I love it anyway :D ]

     [ The secondary reward of making butter? Buttermilk! Which I always turn into lots of homemade pancakes and waffles to freeze and use for breakfast every morning n_n This is tonight’s handiwork from the buttermilk of yesterday’s butter churning, lol - alongside making some cheese and some ice cream! ]

     [ Lookie what muh mama brought home yesterday! These are six wee New Hampshire Red pullets, and oh my goodness they’re so cute...once the weather clears up (golly it’s nasty today Dx) gonna put together a small shed we’ve had lying around for a while and make it into a coop for them! I’m so exited :D ]

     [ Some recent piccies of Cocoa! Which were hard to get cuz any time I’m on the field, she followers me like a puppy x’D And then gets too close for pictures...but I got a few! ]

     [ Tonight’s butter ball :’D over TWO POUNDS! (it says 34.9 oz if it’s hard to see). I think I had around...115 oz of cream? Which means the rest is buttermilk kjdfgdkjfg we’re drownin’, lads xD ]

     [ One of today’s (many) endeavors: converting about 80 oz of cream into 26 oz of butter, and the rest buttermilk! I’m getting better at churning, took me like half the time this time xD ]
