for a prompt maybe nitori could be like a secret badass and rin finds out when he finds nitori beating up some kind (who may or may not have been talking shit about his senpai)

Rin’s headphones were tangled and he was out of breath. He was proud of himself. It had been a good run, finding his way a little far off his decided path but further out than he had managed before. He earned himself a little walk while he cooled down. He really wasn’t too far from the school, wandering at a comfortable pace when he heard a sound around the corner. Like someone rustling around. Two someones rustling around? At first he ignored it, sure there was no reason he needed to see someone making out with their girlfriend. But as he finished fixing his headphones, geared up to head back to his dorm, he realized the sound was getting louder. Okay. So maybe a little more than making out. No. That sounded like a body hitting the ground and the pained noise to go with it. That sounded aggressive. Like energy being spent. Like a struggle.
And that sounded like Ai.
Rin hurried around the corner, moving fast and worried he would be too late. That he would turn the corner and see his little friend, broken and bleeding on the ground with those thugs standing over him. Probably laughing while Ai cried in pain and begged for mercy. Rin was going to rip them apart. How dare they pick on someone so small?! If they wanted a fight they were going to get one.
“Say it again!” His brain froze before his body did, shutting down at the sight in front of him. His feet followed a couple steps later until he was stuck, standing in front of his innocent little Kouhai, crouched over what had to be a third year, at least six inches taller than him when not crumpled on the ground. The older boy was was bleeding from the cut on his lip, the right side of his nose, and staring, wide eyed through the one not swollen over. Neither had noticed Ai’s roommate standing by and the younger boy tightened his grip on the boy’s shirt, pulling him up closer to his face, so that he could hear him without having to raise his voice. The ice in his words sent a shiver down Rin’s spine from five feet away. “Tell me again what you said about Rin-Senpai and his swimming in the tournament.”
The boy stammered, mostly afraid of where this was going and as shocked as Rin about the situation he had found himself in. “N-nothing! I have nothing to say about Matsuoka’s swimming!”
Ai seemed satisfied, untwisting his fingers from the kid’s t-shirt, to let him back fall back down to the hard pavement. He stood, chest heaving with hard breaths, raking his fingers through his hair to slick it back off his shiny forehead. He took a deep breath, held it, and let it out all in one quick go. And then noticed he had an audience.
The young boy stopped completely, blue eyes widening to lock on Rin’s and match his expression. For a moment they could only stand and stare, neither making a move to explain or ask. The broken third year slowly slinked away to lick his wounds. Ai moved first, blinking until his face settled back to the one Rin knew; soft, excited to see him. His hand, bloodied across the knuckles dragged across his pant leg in a sorry attempt to clean it before just sliding behind his back.
“R-Rin-Senpai!” It sounded almost completely normal, even as he hurried over, conveniently blocking his view of the retreating form. “Are you back from your run?!”
Rin tried to glance past the boy but he was already on him, grabbing his arm and tugging him away from the situation altogether, “I’m hungry~~~! Come get dinner with me~~~!”
I like roleplay memes because they remind me of D&D. You’re an elf rogue, graceful and terrifying, climbing walls and picking off enemies before they even knew you were coming. You roll the dice to make sure you can hop over that trap in the road but you roll a one, sorry, not enough! You trip...
//Hiii~ Sorry I keep dissappearing~~~~ I should have said something earlier but life and whatnot. Mrr. I know all of you lovelies don't penalize me for taking a million years to post back and I love you all for it~~~ I guess I just wanted to say I'm trying.. I have a lot of life going on and I do super want to roleplay with all of you and I have some headcanons and prompts I need to work on too so I guess what I'm saying is I'm not really on hiatus I'm just going to be moving at a snail's pace right now.. Like.... an old man snail with a walker. Like... I am so, so sorry I super suck and I'll be on periodically to check up and lurk and read messages and whatnot but please don't judge me if I don't post back for a bit~~~~
