hmm i actually don't like the way that ilia went to hug yuma... he didn't dab him up first like with mikhail at the olympics. it reeks of superiority and like he is trying to emasculate yuma. hopefully I'm wrong, cis male bonding rituals are not my area of expertise but ilia seems to treat the more "artistic" skaters in a different way (he doesn't dap up jason brown either) and we know about his homophobic past...

hot take but figure skating (and just sports in general) dating rumours piss me off so bad sometimes. like why can’t two people of the opposite gender just be friends? come on guys we should be better at being respectful as fans and show respect by not speculating as if they’re fictional characters. it’s fine to think things are cute and enjoy dynamics, but at least acknowledge the fact that these guys are people too and have lives outside of what they post on social media.
