which translation of the odyssey should i read?

for the full experience of the story, id definitely recommend the translation by Robert Fagles! it is a bit dense but honestly i found it much more immersive compared to some other translations, which format it to resemble a traditional poem rather than a story. all are quite similar in regards to the overarching events, just slight tweaks to tone and wording vary from different translations. people online argue a lot about small details in different versions, but don’t be too intimidated by them, as greek mythology as a whole isn’t the most consistent thing in the world and should honestly be interpreted however you read it. back when they were originally written, the odyssey and the iliad’s primary purposes were to entertain, and i genuinely dont think the writer(s) of these epics would have anticipated random 21st century individuals debating about whether antinous planned to sa telemachus or not. guys he was a shitty person either way, why does the exact detail of his already fucked up intent matter this much. anyway, i hope this helped!

north korea and canada had established limited diplomatic relations in 2001, though they have not made any progress to strengthen those ties since. nine years later, canada suspended full diplomatic relations with north korea entirely due to its destabilizing nuclear activity. it was overall just a rough time for north korea’s international ties in the early 2010s. now, canada chooses not to interact with the nation’s government very closely, and exercises caution when doing so. canada and south korea, on the other hand, are quite close… hm. also your oc is adorable awh

yeahh i doubt an old soul such as himself would take a liking to stuff like that. things attempting to stylize a real-life thing unsettle him a bit lmao. i find it kinda endearing in a way how north korean studios have attempted to dip their toes into the field of animation, even if it does come out looking a little… iffy… but to each their own.
