Not to be like ‘who gives a fuck’ but like actually who gives a fuck. I’ve never seen a community so consumed by discourse. This is not a syscourse blog, but it seems like there’s actually nothing else to engage with because it’s all anyone talks about. Every post is tagged pro endo or anti endo and it’s just like. Aren’t yall tired???

You could argue I have a syscourse stance (not one I’m particularly open to sharing), but I feel like there has to be more to the system community as a whole than this ridiculous “us vs them” mindset, like idk man. We’re so busy destroying each other that it feels like we’re actively making it harder for OURSELVES in the process and it’s just. So. Hard to watch.

It’s just not as serious as a lot of people are making it out to be. I tried to explain the discourse to my not-on-tumblr (singlet) sister, and she responded with something along the lines of “no one with a 9-5 knows what you’re talking about.”

I bring a kind of “Syscourse is kinda stupid” vibes to the syscourse tag that anti/pro endos really don’t like and I’m aware of that, but cmon guys. Don’t we have anything better to do? Don’t we have our own communities to lift up???

I genuinely do not understand how "people with CDDs should have access to CDD spaces regardless of their stance on endogenic systems" became a hot take.

Some of y'all have spent so much time arguing online that you've lost sight of what the real problems are. Endos and whether they are real or not is not the problem. They don't even come close to being the problem.

People with CDDs commonly experience profound interpersonal difficulties, significant functional impairment, and high rates of self-harm and suicidality. That is a real problem that needs addressing. Many people with CDDs spend 5-12 years in the mental health system before receiving an accurate diagnosis, often receiving multiple misdiagnoses along the way. That's another real problem. Trauma survivors with dissociative disorders are at increased risk of experiencing further victimization. That's a huge fucking problem that I've personally experienced countless times that the anti vs pro debate never helped me with. Let's not overlook how substance use disorders are a common comorbidity. Also something I personally struggled with.

You don't have to agree with someone's opinions to recognize that they deserve support. Excluding someone with a CDD from community or resources because they disagree with you about a controversial and ultimately unwinnable discourse topic doesn't make the community healthier. All you're doing is leaving one more traumatized person without a place to turn.

If we care about people with CDDs, these real issues should come before winning discourse. Love people with CDDs more than you hate endos.

This completely. Why are random Discord servers asking me my stance on endos just to get in?? Can i just get access to the fucking community already??

Like this isn’t about endos, it never was, and the fact that so many communities that claim to be supportive for those with CDDs are really only open to those who are staunchly for or against endos is so disappointing. We are a community for our disorder, not for hating or loving another community.

We do not need endos in order to have our CDDs, yall know that right

this is directed at systems but also goes for any traumatized individuals, for the last fucking time, stop putting lists of your trauma on public fucking platforms that is not a good idea holy fuck please stop putting very personal and dangerous information on very public websites, especially websites that you *know* people come into our tags and lurk and put screenshots on harassment forums. like oh my fucking god strangers do not fucking need a list of your trauma. also, why the *FUCK* do people never spoiler that/tag it as mature? never at least a trigger warning, they just go right into talking about child abuse. wild ass and irresponsible thing to do. please fucking keep yourselves safe. reiterating because we feel like it needs to be said again:

Syscourse again, sorry, but I want to say I appreciate your last post a lot

I want to add on top of the last anon that being endo neutral or just not having a strong stance on syscourse in general for whatever reason should be seen as okay. CDDs and plurality are both under-researched and you should be able to have your own views or come to your own conclusions, as well as exist as a system on the internet openly, without having to identify with either side. Both sides of the community have proved themselves toxic in their own ways, and those who simply do not wish to associate with it at all because of how stressful or threatening it is should be free to do so

Thank you for this anon, it is very reassuring and I appreciate it. Tumblr syscourse being our first introduction to plurality a few years back, it was and is very overwhelming and scary for us. It is very much why we hesitated openly referring to ourself as plural, not getting into how our ocd made everything more messy. So in a way it's very healing to be able to talk about its existence with compassion and patience, Im grateful people recognize and appreciate my efforts on approaching this topic with the care it deserves, though I may not be perfect, I do try my best <3
