eli was 17 when everything got started up two years back, so the other ya members should be around 18-20 i’d say!

Hi, this may have already been asked (or it may be really self-evident and dumb), but what is the general rule regarding character ages? Do they need to be the exact age they are in the comics, or can you pick which age you want them to be? (Especially like characters who have been around for a long time/aged.)

It’s alright! We’d rather have you ask if you’re not sure about something then not :) We have a timeline question that helps cover this, I’ll share it with you here:

We ask that characters with timelines that bleed together (eg Captain America and Bucky Barnes, Bruce Wayne and Jason Todd) have correlating ages and canon points to keep things straightforward. This is to avoid clashes like having a 25 year old Steve and an 88+ year old Bucky - it’d get confusing!

Generally, if there’s a character who’s age isn’t officially known (eg The Joker) we ask you to use your best guess when it comes to face claims. Since he’s been around for so long, we wouldn’t want to see a face claim of someone who is in their 20s.

Since the site currently takes place in 2016, we need the character to match that year in age. If a comic arc took place in, say 2006, a character wouldn’t be that same age in 2016. If a character is displaced from time for whatever reason, you can ask the staff and we can see if that works with the site canon!

here’s our revised timeline, featuring minor year alterations as well as the addition of the civil war arc.

as previously stated, there will be a summary/write-up of the events of civil war on-site for non-marvel reading members, but this is the basic gist of how we’re playing it!

if your character isn’t listed in the summary or the write-up, then you get creative freedom over how they reacted to the registration laws.

if there’s a character you reserved before we included civil war, and you’ve found that you don’t want to play them now that we’re including it, feel free to send us an ask requesting to drop + reserve someone else.

we have added all x-men related timeline events that we’re including in site canon here.

as with the last timeline, please do not ask to change any events/ages/etc unless you have a justifiable/canon-explained reason for doing so!
