Shiftblr Intro

You are welcome and encouraged to send questions to this blog!

We are a 20-year-old mixed-origin system. Most of us are nonhuman/identify as otherkin, some also fictionkin or therians. We're also astral travelers and pop culture paganists, so shifting is right up our alley.

We attempted reality shifting, found it worked, and figured we’d make a sideblog for it. This blog was also created to deal with a lack of information for shifting as a system. So far we've been successfully shifting since January 2021.

We're going by "R" on this blog for now, but that's liable to change.

Note: We don't have a script, so our drs are semi-involuntary

Our system realized we might want to record our experiences with shifting, since this isn't talked about that often with plurality.

So, we're sharing our most recent experiences with pushing a specific DR to see what will happen. This will mostly cover what occurred with our headspace.

This is being shared for informational purposes so that it may be used to help others who are curious about this as we are or experiencing similar.

First to explain: our method of shifting is a lot more going "hey universe, connect us with a reality?" and then having system members cross into a version of our system that exists in another reality. We don't have as much control with our reality shifting like other shifters might.

Our experience with shifting also involves our consciousness shifting, but at least one headmate still remains in our body and has awareness. Much of this is done through our daemons who represent our consciousness and general fronting states. Our headspace also becomes attached to our DR.

After crossing there was a period of "linking". Sort of like our headspace(s) were connecting. In this DR our system had different experiences, so there are certain headmates who formed in our DR but aren't mirrored in our CR system. These headmates had to be linked into our system, and headmates who were mirrored felt some memory additions if they got close to the DR body.

This DR is also actually younger than our CR, so interestingly they seem to be really similar to our system when we were younger. The area of the headspace they're most attached to is the same that we were attached to at their age.

Now that things are settled we find ourselves being able to shift more easily and our daemons (representing parts of our consciousness) can be projected out by our DR and lead us to fully shift or partially shift. We've also noticed that blurring seems to be worse if it does occur, so we have to be careful to take steps not to blur and make sure we keep ourselves grounded, which we were already working on.

You're also welcome to ask us questions about this if you want to know more. This isn't something we see talked about often, so go for it!

You know what could be cool , having a blog on here that’s like for your dr self. So you would post things that might happen in your dr and you would design it to fit your dr self’s aesthetic.

For example - My dr self might might post “Omg I’m literally dreading potions with snape today”. (This is cringy but you get the idea)

It might help with connecting to your dr.

Hi! So I'm a fronstuck host and I was wondering if you think shifting might help me get unstuck and let someone else front for once while I'm gone? And do you think that when I get back it'll be easier for us to switch since the body would be used to having someone other than me controlling it?

I actually don't really know, we don't have a host ourselves and we haven't shifted with someone frontstuck. The past times we've shifted it wasn't so much leaving the front but our consciousness shifting and whoever is in the body getting more grounded into the front. Although we also find that we're less affected by mental body limitations and tend to act more like us, so we sometimes experience shifting as being easier in that state?

Though if you try it I would be interested in what the results are! I can't say for sure what might happen though

We also know other methods for getting out a frontstuck system member we'll give since they might help you! The one that usually works for us is doing something that's negative stimulus for the fronter while being positive stimulus for the one you're trying to switch into, stim videos usually work well. Some systems also find that rubbing their temples while trying to switch seem to work.

What are your opinions on Odd1sOut’s shifting video?

When I first began the video, I thought well, alright. Maybe he’s just going to disagree with our beliefs. I think that his comparison to religion was quite apt. I don’t mind people being doubtful of our methodology. I know shifting is real, and that doesn’t really bother me.

What does bother me, is believing that shifting is a harmful belief. I mean seriously? Comparing shifting to racism? In what way does that even make sense? It’s incredibly offensive to me and the shifting community as a whole, especially since shiftblr specifically is one of the most accepting communities I have ever been in.

My other problem is that anything that is said about shifting, and literally anything, is given a negative connotation. There is no “well let’s hear the other side out.” James came into making this video with an opinion, and did not at all even consider thinking about the material he was talking about. “Wow, this community has hundreds of thousands of members! How terrible?”

...Like, alright James. But have you considered that if hundreds of thousands of people believe in something, and these hundreds of thousands of people have shifted before, they perhaps, may be... on to something? Maybe they have something right?

What I think James does do is bring up a very good point about clones, and how flawed the understanding of them is. When you’re shifting, you are not taking over someone’s life, because... that’s your consciousness. You are one you spread across many, many universes. Shifting into another vessel doesn’t vacate the previous host, because, newsflash, you are the previous host. At least this video gave me a better understanding that people do not understand clones.

“How can there be a reality where magic is real?”

I’ll do you one better, James. How can we exist in a reality where computers are real? I mean seriously, think about computers for a second. How complex they are. We currently live in a universe where quantum computers are real. “They’re backed by science.” And how do we know that magic in someone else’s universe isn’t? How could you even possibly know if you don’t try to shift? Even then, science here struggles to identify and define the universe. We frequently discover subatomic particles that bend the laws we’ve already created.

This whole “I don’t understand it therefore it’s not real” mentality is the REASON we have people like flat-earthers and anti-vaxxers.

Also this whole shifting = sleeping thing. Just... I’ve covered this before. I’ve shifted while awake. I’m not covering it again. Clearly, he didn’t do enough research into this before posting it.

He did make a great point regarding research and critical thinking. We should be better with both. In fact, I want to see more studies about reality shifting. I would love that! This is an untapped field full of potential. I’m all for more science behind shifting.

In the end, this is just another fear-mongering, anti-shifting joint. I’ve seen enough of them to know the gist.

Just, you know. What a disappointment.

The way shifting works for us is it involves us shifting our consciousness over to another body. The method we use usually specifically involves focusing on shifting our daemon and projecting our daemon in our DR. 

When we’re shifting whoever remains in the body can feel a distinct shift and actually tends to act more on their own instinct than the body instinct and it’s described as feeling more clarity with yourself/the system. Meanwhile our DR acts as the new centralized front for the duration of the time shifted. We also still do usually have casual access to our DRs, but unless we actively try to shift, it’s hard to access. 

We’re currently still trying to explore this and how it works exactly, but that’s the basics of it!

Our experiences are more unusual because of plurality, but we've successfully shifted before!

From what we heard Anthony Padilla included a lucid dreamer in his shifting video, but the two experiences are very different.

So because we have some experience with lucid dreaming, we wanted to make a quick post about how it differs from shifting.

Reality shifting can occur while you are fully awake.

Even when sleeping methods are used, you don't always automatically shift back. For some people the body wakes up and you're still shifted.

The body still acts while you are shifted. This is where clones come in, or whatever else you want to call it.

You can have full control over a dream while you are lucid dreaming, you don't usually have easy control when in a desired reality.

The methods to lucid dream are very different most of the time than those methods used from shifting even when sleep is involved.

Feel free to let us know if we need to correct anything here.

I find it kind of interesting that there are multiple people in the Alterhuman/‘kin community here on shiftblr. In concept, I can see why that would be the case, both are just about equally as unorthodox I suppose, and a couple things sort of coincide, but idk, I just think it’s neat. I kind of hope that if reality shifting gets better understood, that will open the way for fictionkin to being better understood.

There has been so much anti-kin (or just misinformed people) trying to redefine what kin means because to them identifying as and considering yourself something from fictionkin and having that be involuntary is too out there. Its done a lot of harm for fictionkin.

Might be a longshot and at this point the misinformation is deep-rooted, but I can still hope.
