short form writers look at people writing 100k+ fics as though this is some sort of talent given as part of a fae bargain, that the commitment required shows some sort of ungodly mental fortitude.
meanwhile long form writers look at people writing 1000 word one shots like god I would cut off my left nipple to be able to say anything concisely. i would love to play with multiple ideas. free me from the shackles of this child I have birthed. i love them but I now must take them to t-ball and doctor's appointments and they're going to destroy everything I own.

Mira and Zoey raced forward. Rumi paused, just long enough for the other demons to understand what they were facing, but not long enough for them to adjust, to figure out how to deal with this new threat.

‘Can I? Can I help distract you?’ Rumi offers, hopeful as she offers herself up as a distraction. Like she’s a snack, not a feast; a matchstick, not literally the sun Zoey orbits.
It makes her want to scream sometimes.
Instead, she slings her arm around Rumi’s neck. Buries her fingers in shaggy layers of soft, soft, soft hair and yanks her front and centre so she can finally get her tongue on her fucking teeth.
‘Yeah,’ she mutters between kisses. ‘Yeah. You can.’
The elevator dings, cheerful.
"And you girls are killing it!" Bobby said. "I'm fired up now. I've been working on our social media strategy. We're planning a launch in the next couple of weeks. If you're done, maybe we can touch base on that?"
"Sure," Rumi said, at the same instant that Zoey said, "Sorry, Bobby!" and Mira said, "We're actually booked up."
There was a beat as they all looked at each other.
"You know," Zoey said, hands wandering as if trying to pluck an excuse out of thin air, "we have that…research project."
New chapter of Lay Me Down! In it, Zoey and Mira are up to something, and Rumi sees...nothing. It was probably nothing. Don't even worry about it.

She saw first hand the way people were torn apart. The way that people who loved each other at some point, could just… stop. While sometimes it was a sharp immediate divide, she witnessed the slow, steady demise instead.
Her parents divorce was out of a dictionary. They ended with split custody of her, which became splitting her already limited free time. Pulled between two worlds, there wasn't much time for her own.
Well, until HUNTR/X.
Zoey didn't believe in soulmates, but apparently the world believed for her.
She met Rumi by accident while skateboarding to work.
She was late. She always ran late to work, but this time she was really late to work. Her manager at the concert stadium was nice enough to let her slide off one too many times, but this was gonna be the last straw. She totally was in the dog house now.
Hell, her Dad even reminded her, like he always did, but she ended losing track until her late alarm rang through the game she dived into and now she was skateboarding like her life depended on it.
Zoey managed to make it all the way too the door when there's a ripple. The light around her quivered, shaking with some unseen force.
(The world did that sometimes. Zoey tried to see if anyone else could see it, but her parents made her get her eyes tested, and after that Zoey kept quiet. She would later be told by Rumi it was the Honmoon, and that she wasn't just seeing things.
She would never feel so relieved.)
The world rippled, so brighter that she forgot to stop just the door in front of her flew open. It smacked her in the face, and with a yelp she leaned back cradling her bruised nose. She forgot she was still on her board, and the weight shift caused it to slip out underneath her and- oh fuck!
Zoey crashed to the floor, hitting her head with a nasty bang and sparks burst in the black of her eyelids. She groaned. Her nose, now her head. And she was late.
"Oh my god!" A voice said before she heard shuffling. "Are you okay?"
"Y-yeah just give me a second." Zoey winced as she tried moving only for her to feel a bout of nausea. Oh god did she have a concussion? She really couldn't take the day off.
"I'm so sorry, I thought I saw something outside and-" The voice clipped off as Zoey opened her eyes to the most beautiful woman imaginable.
Purple hair braided, brown eyes that turned gold in the sun, and skin Zoey could only describe as soft.
The world rippled around them, and something just, clicked. It's like other woman could feel it too, falling silent as she hovered over Zoey.
"Wow, did I die and go to heaven? I think I see an angel." She said, head filled with nothing else besides her. .
The angel laughed a surprised thing. "No, my name is Rumi." She said with an amused smile. She looked around, as though she could see the shimmering waves around them. "But I think you might be mine. It's nice to meet you."
Zoey hadn't believed in soulmates before, but suddenly, she might. Even if she caused her a concussion.

I've been going through some pretty complicated health issues, a stomach ulcer and bouts of depression, so I haven't been drawing much. But maybe soon I'll open commissions to help me with treatment
