There is something very funny about this to me

When I was 10 maybe 11 years old I went on an overnight school field trip everyone called "tall ships". It was in essence larping as sailors on a 19th century working ship. The days consisted of mopping the ship, eating gruel and hardtack, and getting yelled at by the captain (a man I am assuming had a graduate degree in theater and a hatred of children). We had set night shifts and were woken up to "watch for pirates" at 2am.

At one point we were visited in our bunks as we were about to go to sleep by the captain. He brought (fake) letters from our (fake) parents and read them in a mocking tone. "Oh! your mommy misses you on the farm. Do YOU miss your mommy?" and then, I remember this vividly, he set a letter on fire. I don't remember why. Sometimes I think about this experience and wonder if this was how it was supposed to go, or if we had a rogue team of actors who decided to this was a great opportunity to conduct some sort of experiment on school children.

verbs don't carry a lot of diseases actually, if it was a noun then you'd have to get a vaccine or risk getting a bad case of the cases

One time i went over to my sister’s apartment and my brother in law was standing in the kitchen holding something smokey. I was like “what are u doing” and he calmly responds “burning a picture of mitch mcconnell”

I have social anxiety but I’ve learned over many years how to effectively mask it (because acting socially anxious is annoying to people and shows weakness=puts me in danger of mistreatment) so I sometimes just come across as rude.

For example I’ll be quiet and end conversations suddenly. But I won’t show any signs of anxiety. People have told me that they thought I didn’t like them. I’ve also had people express great surprise when I told them I have an anxiety disorder. Which was shocking to me, who thought it was so obvious. #overcontrolledboss
