The Paper Trail
We're working on a new project called 'The Paper Trail'. For this project, we're gathering bike video submissions from around the world to integrate into one interactive visual album.
Our goal is to collect videos from as many places as possible so our music can travel the world. As a final product, we'll sync the videos to our music, and the album will be shared on our site in an interactive click-through fashion that will let listeners pick and choose which cities to explore.
We have collected a handful of videos already, but in order to reach our goal of 100 videos, we’re asking anyone and everyone, from any part of the world, to make a video as they bike through their city.
RULES
1.) Film a 5 or 20 minute video as you bike through your city (or wherever). The video must be one continuous take. 2.) CONTACT US AT [email protected] AND WE'LL SEND YOU A LINK WHERE YOU CAN UPLOAD YOUR FILE
We’ll add your video to our collection of cities (and credit you for it of course), so people can explore many different pockets of the world while listening to our music. In return, we'll send you some presents.
We also accept skate, rollerblading, unicycling, etc. videos. Any mode of transportation that is self propelled on wheels.
Once we get your video, we'll mail you some presents!
For 15-20 Minute Videos: + A physical copy of our 4-song EP 'Care Less' + A physical copy of our 4-song EP 'Anyway' + A screen-print of some of our art + A hand-printed T-shirt + A sticker
For 5-10 Minute Videos +A digital copy of our 4-song EP 'Anyway' +A digital copy of our 4-song EP 'Care Less'
TIPS FOR FILMING
If you're using an iPhone/Smart Phone:This is what we've used to film our previous videos. There are a few mistakes that we've learned from filming that we'd like to share with you to help you out.
Make sure your phone is completely charged.
Make sure your phone has at least 5GB of storage available. That's the average amount required to film a 20 minute video.
We used a t-shirt with a front pocket, slipped our phone in it with the camera sticking out, and taped around our torso to secure it in place. You might look a little silly. If you're going that route, good posture is super helpful so you don't end up just filming the road. Avoid biking uphill (unless you want to really work out your core with that posture).
PUT YOUR PHONE ON AIRPLANE MODE so incoming calls/notifications do not interrupt the recording process!
Please don't add any filters to the video, we'll edit them all to have one cohesive look when all submissions have been collected!
If you're using a Go Pro: You probably don't need tips from us.
