Hello 🙋

My name is Maram, I am 25 years old from Gaza. I dreamed of a peaceful life, spending my life with my husband and my three children... but the war turned this dream into an impossible one 💔😭. We lived through this genocide with all its painful details and we are still suffering from it😭. We were so happy when the ceasefire was announced, and we returned to our homes in northern Gaza after being displaced for a year and a half in a tent in the south of the Gaza Strip. After repairing a small room in our destroyed house, we began to live there and start over. Unfortunately, the war came back, and it was even stronger than before 💔. Now, we have no shelter or source of income. We have used up all our savings during the war. I know I created my campaign very late, but that's because I have no other means to help my family 🙏. I am completely confident and hopeful that someone here will help us as much as they can and save my family in these tough circumstances 😔.

I know how painful and frustrating it is to start over from scratch, but I hope to get any amount for my family 🥺🙏.

Found an old calculator when I was last shopping at the ARC (which has become one of my favorite spots to source my materials from). I've always wanted to incorporate old and used technology into my projects, so this is my first experiment to try it out. I had a lot of fun taking it apart and figuring ways to utilize the parts of the calculator into this headdress! Although I would've loved to make it a functioning calculator, I ended up just using the keycaps to make them pressable and I cut up the circuit board with a hobby knife. Currently, I am planning to collect more scraps of technology to tear apart as well as my own old bits of technology from over the years. Please look forward to seeing similar pieces as this!

Made a sweet egl headdress using a pink floral print that I had used previously for a different project. I also used some more of my leftover flower ribbon charms to add a nice touch so it compliments some of the leaves in the print. ☆ Now listed on both my depop and kofi! ☆

Using some scraps from my previous collection to make a tenshi kaiwai inspired headdress. This one is bit more simple and old school egl as compared to my more detailed headdresses. Still, this headdress has some neat details when it comes to my usual contrasting top stitching. ☆ Now listed on both my depop and kofi! ☆

Received some old clothes from a relative that didn't suit me, so I turned it into ruffles to make this dreamy pastel headdress. A lot of the materials used are thrifted or bought from independently owned fabric stores local to AZ. Still experimenting through my own scraps of fabrics and seeing what else I can make out of them^^ ☆ Now listed on both my depop and kofi! ☆

around this time last year i completed my first capsule collection, original sin, for my final project as a fashion student at FIDM. i created this collection to highlight the beauty i find in things women are constantly punished for, with a focus on sexuality, power, and physical form. i had the privilege of showcasing these three designs at a small, student-led fashion show with the help of my friends and community in la. <3
