I feel like I need to share this because idk if Europeans are familiar with the presence of Aldi in the US, but at least especially in my area they’ve been growing a lot recently. Like Aldi bought out some local failing grocery chains where I live (Louisiana) and have opened Aldis in all these somewhat rural communities and small towns, which for the record I’m fine with

But as a result of this they are advertising a lot more in my area and also in many cases, the people in these areas have never been confronted with Aldi or any European grocery store. So the ads that Aldi is pushing out to its new US customer base feature a cowboy shopping at Aldi who is explaining to new Aldi customers how Aldi works. Like this cowboy is explaining you gotta put a quarter in the shopping cart and why there are very little name brands. A cowboy is how they want to reach their American customer base. What's especially funny about this is that my town has all the chain stores because we're one of the largest towns in the area. I (a town habitator) have seen multiple cowboys in the Aldi, and not once, not once have I seen a cowboy in the neighbouring Walmart.

I went hiking and one got 1 blister!!! Usually I get 7 to 8 but to be fair I was only hiking for a fraction of the time I usually do since there were small kids. Getting them to hike for an hour and fifteen minutes was already quite the feat let alone my usual 3-4 hours so I’ll take it!

I don’t think concern is warranted. If I do have a skin condition that would be new information to me. It’s on my big toe. I wore toe socks and have slightly larger boots to prevent excessive toe smashing on decent. What does one do to prep feet for hiking???? I do know that I tend to walk oddly, or at least according to my mother and siblings.

Okay. I also get feet squashed by hiking boots (just my foot shape, honestly), so that signals to me that it might be your equipment (boots and socks, here). Personally, I use thicker "hiking" socks. The ones I have are probably wool or a similar material and have padding around the foot specifically for protection. Both of my parents use socks like these as well, and none of us have experienced blistering. Since you said it's on your toe, your boot might be too short in the foot and is rubbing at your foot. That will, most likely, not be solved by socks, but that could be a jumping-off point for preventing future blistering.

The side of my feet have one long callous from blisters as well as the joints of my big toes… I did only go up about a half size and I am needing a new pair so I’ll probably go up a full size this time. I forgot to mention that I am consistently going into bodies of water to pick things up which definitely does NOT help the blistering.

Honestly, the only effect that should be having (as someone who also goes into bodies of water with boots on) is wet socks, which should not be affecting that. If your boots are getting small again, I would definitely go up a size or so. If you can, find a rough patch to walk over (it simulates a rougher terrain better to make it easier to judge if they're good).

So apparently in the DSM-5 there is something listed as hypoactive sexual desire disorder which means that the World Health Organization is STILL considering asexuality as a mental illness. I myself am on the ace spectrum and have multiple friends who are also asexual and quite frankly I am PISSED

I looked it up - it is only classified as a disorder if it "causes significant levels of personal distress (in the affected)," quoted from University of Colorado Anschutz, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and backed by the American Sexual Health Organization. The current iteration of the DSM-5 is focused on women, but there is a separate diagnosis of an apparently similar disorder in men, documented by The Sexual Psychophysiology Laboratory at University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, this source defines it fairly succinctly in the first paragraph and notes in paragraph three that men are more likely to present with erectile dysfunction or not at all due to cultural norms.

I did not see anything from the World Health Organization specifically, but that may just be my research results.
