I’d rather have the financial security. [kisses his cheek] Maybe when I’m old.

Do you have country cottage money?

...No...and if I did, I wouldn’t spend it like that. We have bills to pay...would rather save the money I’ve got in case something happened and we were struggling.

Maybe a little.

It would be unrealistic to think I’d get a book done in a month. Well, maybe if I’d shut myself away in a cottage in the country and had no other committments or distractions...it’ll take time.

I mean maybe you need to do more research.

[nods] I think I need to practice patience too.

[tabithameyer]

What are you writing now?

A period novel. It’s different to what I’d normally write but I wanted to try different...was hoping it would help me get further in writing it but it’s time consuming, with all the research that has to be done to make sure the details are right.

Allergies are kicking my butt this year.

I’m sure she’d be happy to see you.

We’re always happy to see her. Well, apart from that one time when she just walked into the house and uh... [laughs and shakes her head, cheeks turning slightly pink]

Good! She’s been spending more time with her parents since they’ve been back. Have you been to their new place? It’s really nice.

I haven’t been yet, but I heard they finally got some place more suited to them...should probably go over and give them a moving gift soon.

What do you mean?

I can’t get into writing anything properly. I have ideas, but it’s like I burn out after the first few pages.

Then I don’t think you’d be much of a writer.

Well, as it stands I’m still not much of a writer...I can’t stick to one project it seems.

Communication is hard for some.

[gently plays with his fingers] I suppose. It wouldn’t be good if I, as an aspiring writer, couldn’t put things into words.

That’s why you don’t wanna rush into marriage.

This is true...but...how does it not come up? Like we’ve spoken about marriage, plenty of times...I know that I’d like to marry you one day and I feel like you would also like to marry me. We would know if we weren’t on the same page, and probably wouldn’t have made it this far if we saw differently on such a big thing.

Could you imagine though being with someone for so long and hoping he’ll ask you to marry him but then he says he doesn’t really believe in it? Like...how can you go that many years together not realising you’re both on different pages?
