EXACTLYYY. Persona 4 is so weird as this strange peak into the lives of extremely repressed teenagers living in a small conservative town in 2010's Japan.. where the moral of the story is "BE YOURSELF!! YOUR TRUE SELF!!" but then at the end theyre all cis/het/normal goals, and the game itself is full of fatphobia, homophobia, and transphobia for what feels like no reason. It's what keeps me so 'hooked' to it because it's kind of a trainwreck? yet i still love it. There's always some new random dialog that spawns a new queer headcanon :')

I think Persona 4 Revival will be the definitive way to play Persona 4. Persona 3 Reload, which I see as a complete step up in every way from Persona 3 FES or Portable, did a great job modernizing the gameplay and bringing in modern conveniences from Persona 5 (More fluid battles, Better dungeon crawling) along with its own (Fully voiced Social Links, Linked Episodes). I feel like people who complain about these changes are nostalgic people who grew up with the original releases, which while fine and perfectly acceptable, blind them to the fact that modern audiences or those more familiar with the recent games (like me) don't enjoy the outdated parts of those games.

Also, I think that a new voice cast will be phenomenal based off of Reload.

I think takes like this are incredibly funny, because I'm someone who got into persona like 3 years ago, and I like the older games because the gameplay isn't piss easy. Not hating on this person of course, but it's weird that all people who like the old games are 'just nostalgic' lmao.

discord is rolling out age verification starting in march and it's either accepting forms of ID like a drivers license or birth certificate or it allows you to do a "video selfie scan" which makes an age inference based off what you look like (using AI, of course).

and it also says that it will make age inferences based off of how active you are on discord and what games you play and "other behavioral signals"

which is also not to forget the data leak that happened back in october about this very same subject.

this isn't just going to restrict you from age restricted channels or servers, but you're also not going to be allowed to speak in live stages or see any content or images that discord deems "graphic or sensitive" (which is also probably going to be AI inference).

Thinking about how P3P has genuinely changed how i approach video games and art in general.

I find myself chasing shadows trying to find a single game that gives the same feeling as truly being a girl. The only game I can think of that comes close strangely enough is female byleth from three houses...

but even then there is a severe lack of games where you ARE a girl, you are ACKNOWLEDGED as a girl.

it's so hard to pinpoint, but... its like... gender-affirming?? I'm cis, i consider myself a girl, but Kotone's route in P3P is so.. euphoric to play.

You're not just an empty girlboss archetype, nor are you just a model swap that's treated the exact same as the guy protag, but with she/her pronouns… I just wish every female protagonist had this amount of care put into her, and it's so frustrating watching ATLUS give shitty excuses like "girls are too mature to be protags1!1".
