FeMC November Day 1: Anniversary.

Man… I forgot to post this for 2 whole days... Anyway, happy anniversary to Persona 3 Portable and to Kotone Shiomi… two of my favorite things in the world!!!! To get sappy for a moment: I can't even begin to describe how being able to play as a girl felt for the first time. Sure, a decent chunk of games have girl player characters, but NOTHING, and i mean NOTHING feels like it actually cared about actually BEING a girl, not just a model swap. Playing P3P--i felt seen. Being able to have those specific friendships and comradery with female characters, the way Mitsuru supports you, even the way they wrote Junpei getting over his mild internalized misogyny. It sounds silly since so much of the population are women or fems, but there is a severe lack of games that actually care about how the world presents itself to you when you are a teenage girl—or a woman in general.

The care put into the FeMC route is unlike any other game for me. And the way it was done on a shoestring budget, Kotone only being added so more people would buy P3P is insane! I'm so forever grateful to the team who worked hard to add an important experience into the game, and I sincerely hope they add another female protagonist in the future—done exactly like Kotone. Thank you P3P, and happy birthday Kotone Shiomi.
