PROBLEM

The world is ending. You know it, your neighbor knows it, the dealer knows it, the jailer knows it, the king and all his men know it. All one has to do is look around to see it— the future is curdling into something pale and incorporeal. The infernal machine that is this stupid world is going to blow, sooner rather than later. So what are you doing? Why are you still here? Why is anyone still here?

SOLUTION

You are doing the only thing worth doing. You are living. *Why,* you ask? Try and remember now. Remember your mother’s hand on your shoulder. Remember the taste of a fresh catch. Remember the times when you were kind to the dogs in the valley and they did not bare their teeth. Remember the weight of a child on your shoulders. Remember the stars throwing their light against the wall of sodium and smog. Remember singing until your throat was raw. Remember crying just as loudly and publicly, and the gentleness with which someone opened your curled fist and pressed a handkerchief into your palm. Crying, laughing, running, eating, screaming, haunting, loving, fighting, fighting, fighting. The fight fuels you, and you fuel the fight. You run yourself ragged just for a chance to keep running. You never stop. You cannot stop. The world depends on it. *You* are the infernal engine. You are the world. And, simply put: you want to live.

discovered dream and george on sunday and i just want to ask you all if you’re alright? in the eight years i’ve been online, i have never seen a pair like this, i survived early yt era shipping and that was wild but this? this? this is f*cking mad, folks. if two cc’s made as many jokes or comments about their own ship to the public, people would lose their minds. like i’ve been sat here three days in silence watching clips of dream saying “my future is your future” and george planning marriage “fraud” at least three times like it’s not absolute insanity,

the “i’ve known him for six years”, the “we could...kiss?”, the “i’ll win if you tell me you love me, george”, the “have you compared your best friend to any of your past bf/gf’s” followed by “n-no-no!” and george’s quiet “well..”, the “are you dating dream?” followed by george’s “he wishes”, with “me and george have no plans to date...we’re just bro’s, just homies” making toby and tommy start wheezing like they can’t breathe, “yeah i have it set up so dream’s call comes through when he needs me” george said, “i love you dream” he says before exiting, and dream just blatantly says “the only man i’m into is george”, like.

all the suggestive texts (what?) the constant confusion of their relationship from their friends (okay) the late calls that last hours (fine) the unsure reaction george has when dream says something provacative concerning their relationship (huh?) when dream stutters or falls quiet when he’s caught off guard where it concerns george (how?) the soft voice they use only for the other (i...) fans being used to dream liking ship fanart (it doesn’t surprise you anymore) no like how they’ve known each other for more than half a decade and george still doesn’t know what he looks like - and is okay with that,

the fact that dream’s always looking for george, hearing george, focused on george, to the point where he has his stream open, looking for george’s reactions, only. i don’t think you folks understand how absolutely mad this is. you’re used to it and i genuinely don’t know what’s going on here. just, i love my friends, but i know i don’t love them the same way dream loves george.
