10 Surprising Weight Loss Tips You Haven’t Tried Yet
1. Eat with Your Non-Dominant Hand
Switching hands slows you down and makes you more mindful while eating.
2. Sniff Peppermint or Vanilla Before Meals
Studies suggest certain scents, like peppermint and vanilla, can reduce appetite and cravings.
3. Use Blue Plates
Blue is an uncommon food color and may subconsciously reduce appetite.
4. Chew Each Bite 30 Times
It sounds tedious, but chewing more improves digestion and gives your body time to signal fullness.
5. Take Cold Showers
Cold exposure can activate brown fat — the type that burns calories to generate heat.
6. Brush Your Teeth After Dinner
Brushing signals your brain (and taste buds) that eating time is over. You’re less likely to snack late at night when your mouth feels fresh and clean.
7. Rearrange Your Pantry
Put unhealthy snacks out of sight — or better yet, out of reach. Place healthy options like nuts or fruit at eye level.
8. Turn Off the Lights While Eating
Eating in a dimly lit space may encourage slower eating and a better focus on flavors.
9. Eat More Fermented Foods
Kimchi, sauerkraut, kefir, and yogurt can improve gut health. A healthy gut microbiome has been linked to better weight regulation and reduced cravings.
10. Use Smaller Forks and Spoons
Odd but true — smaller utensils can slow your eating pace and make you feel like you’re eating more than you actually are.
speechless....... wont be buying the cakes anymore im sorry this is unbelievable
The Spider Test
Here’s something my mama taught me. It’s called the spider test and you use it whenever you’re unsure about a boy or a man. You use it when you want to know if he’s the one you want to marry or not. Don’t worry ladies! No spiders needed! But if you ever stumble upon one that would be an opportune time to use it. Tell him there’s a spider and ask him to kill/be rid of it for you. If his first instinct is to do as you ask to save you the discomfort of facing a creepy crawly, then that’s great! But, if his first instinct is to either
A. Refuse to out of laziness
B. Question or make fun of/belittle you because you can’t
C. Question why it’s his role to do an uncomfortable task for you
Then, I’m afraid it’s possible that he doesn’t have the right mentality to be a husband, provider, or protector.
A traditional husband’s guidance and a traditional wife’s guidance are two separate things, to be expressed in separate ways - but are both to be respected.
Find a lover who says “I see your trauma, and I know you are so much more than your experiences.” That kind of love and support that helps you heal, grow, thrive.
I have learned that love can grow without sex, and that sex does not always lead to love.
how beautiful is the fact that we actively choose to love someone, that both our heart and mind choose to love? how intimate it is that we consciously dedicate our acts of love to certain souls, that even our silence is filled with love towards them. we choose to love, we love intentionally, but so intensely and purely that it flows out of our bones in the most natural way - we love consciously in many unconscious ways...
I’m such a slut for casual intimacy. Like yesss rest your chin on my shoulder while we're in line at the grocery store, I live for that shit.
🧺 how to be a homemaker while working 🧺
it’s been a while since i’ve posted, mostly because i’ve been incredibly busy working full-time. however, i still try to fulfill my role as a homemaker, and i’ve found several tips that help me maintain a clean, beautiful and well-managed home :)
tip one: make your home beautiful! you can buy fresh flowers, gather herbs and dry them (which will also make your home smell nice!), buy pretty dishes or decorations from the thrift store or find other ways to beautify your home in little ways. these don’t have to be expensive, they just need to make your home feel inviting and welcoming!
tip two: create a cleaning schedule. instead of giving up on chores until you have to spend hours cleaning, have certain days for doing certain chores. for example, i do laundry on mondays and clean the kitchen on tuesdays. keeping a schedule encourages consistency and keeps the chores from piling up and becoming overwhelming!
tip 3: write out a meal plan! knowing what you plan to cook each day eliminates the stress of figuring out a meal the day you plan to make it. it also makes it easier to go grocery shopping (because you know what ingredients you’ll need) and enables you to prepare what you need in advance.
tip 4: if you have a partner, devote one night a week to a date night! you could dress nicely and go out to eat, or stay at home and have intentional quality time. this has made a huge difference in my own relationship.
🌼have a lovely day🌼
oh to buy an old house in the woods i can fix up with my husband, where my children can run around and play in nature 🌾🕊🏹
I love doing housework. I love the simple tasks, the feeling of productivity, the satisfaction of having a clean house. I love the checklists, the routine, the happiness. I love the smile on people's faces when they see that you have cleaned the house and baked dinner. I just love housework.
Oh to be a homemaker, to devote your time building a place for your loved ones to find comfort in, creating a place purely out of the love in your heart rather than a feeling of "duty" born from "tradition"
It is not your "place" it is not your "role" to fill. It is a choice you make for a person or people you love
