“Daddy!”
Waddling over to her father as quickly as her little legs could manage, Lucina peered up at him with a grin on her lips. Hidden behind her back was her own gift for him, which she had constructed with the help of some of the castle’s servants. Most of the work was done by them, but Lucina would claim it as her own handiwork regardless. The fruit of their labor was a flower crown--one that was perhaps slightly too small for the Exalt’s head--but one she had poured her heart into nonetheless, after seeing others make them time and time again.
Since she, her mother, and her baby brother had set out to pick flowers as a simple present for Father’s Day (though Morgan could obviously do nothing to assist them), the princess had secretly kept some of their findings to herself. Once Robin had left, telling her daughter to stay with the wet nurses while she and one of her friends went to ‘find a bear for Daddy’. Lucina had no idea what to expect, thinking that her mother was going to bring home a teddy bear, like the ones she had received on her birthday. But at least it had given her the time she needed to prepare her own gift.
Looking immensely proud of herself, Lucina held out the makeshift crown of flowers. Even her mother had no idea that she had kept some of the flowers they had gathered to herself - they had become a bit squished and tattered, but they were beautiful all the same, especially for being held by a toddler. Pinched between her stubby fingers, she hoisted it higher, bouncing on her toes as though she had the intention of placing it on her father’s head herself.
“For Daddy,” she announced, blatantly ignoring the fact that several pedals had fallen from their homes with how rough she was handling it. “From Luci!”
