IWAIZUMI HAJIME ➞ in his previous relationships, iwaizumi is usually the one who does cute things for his s/o. one might assume that he has absolutely no romantic bone in his body, but he actually is very affectionate, just in a different way than what’s deemed as conventional. when you come bearing a small bouquet of red roses for him on your 6-month anniversary, his face immediately matches the shade of the flowers. stupid, i’m supposed to be the one giving you roses, he’d grumble, cheeks still burning. but he would take the bouquet from your grasp and admire it for a little bit, before pulling you into a tight hug and kissing the crown of your head while murmuring a small thank you, babe, i love it. throughout the whole date, you can see his lips twitching into a smile as he glances over to the bouquet sitting beside him. never in a million years would he expect to be on the receiving end of this, and he’s so grateful for you because you were the first one to even bother doing this for him.
KOZUME KENMA ➞ you like leaving little post it notes around the house for him to find whenever he takes a break from gaming. the notes range from silly inside jokes you have with him, to sappy mini-love letters about the little things he does that made you fall in love with him. kenma would sometimes find one on the fridge door, one by his pillow, and another one on the back of his gaming chair. he wouldn’t outwardly show it, but he appreciates them so so much, especially after the fatigue of staring at a computer screen for hours sets in. it gives him a small boost of energy, in a way, and a small smile would grace his lips whenever he finds another one of your signature pink post-its around his apartment. he wouldn’t admit this (over my dead body, he says) but he keeps every single one of your notes in a shoebox under his desk. one of his favorite one, the one he keeps looking back to, is the one where you drew you and him as cartoon kittens.
AKAASHI KEIJI ➞ akaashi never really liked receiving gifts; he usually prefers to be the one giving them instead. he’s a simple guy, he doesn’t have a lot of things on his wish list, and he doesn’t want people to feel obligated to give him anything. so when you hand him a neatly wrapped box with a beige-colored ribbon around it, he refused to take it at first. but you insisted, and the glimmer in your eyes and the excited curl of your lips made him give in—after all, he has always found it hard to say no to you. he carefully unwrapped the gift and almost gasped when he saw what was inside. it was the limited hardcover copy of the book he’s been wanting to get his hand hands on (signed by the author, too!). he didn’t think you would even remember, as he only mentioned it to you once during your coffee date with him last month. there was a tender smile on his lips as he murmured a quiet thank you, my love and pressed a soft kiss on your forehead.

“mi amor, you have been the greatest blessing in my life. you have always stayed by my side even though i know i’m not always the easiest to be around.” he gives your hand a tight squeeze, the tears forming in his eyes matching that of yours. “you understand me in ways no one else ever did, and i’m eternally grateful that fate has brought you to me and that they’ve allowed me to call you mine. thank you for being the wonderful person that you are. i love you so so much and i never want to lose you, will you marry me?”
AKAASHI KEIJI ➞ akaashi invites you to go on a walk with him after enjoying a nice dinner the two of you cooked together. you don’t really think twice about it because the two of you do go on walks pretty often anyways. you grasp his hand, snuggling closer as the chilly night air nips at your skin. “my love, do you remember our first date?” he asks, placing a small peck on the back of your hand that’s intertwined with his. “mhm! we went on a cute little picnic in this exact same park, right?” you smile brightly at him.
he nods, holding your gaze with a sort of tenderness in his eyes, “y/n, from the moment i met you, i’ve always known that you are perfect for me, as cheesy as it sounds. i still don’t know for certain whether soulmates are real or if they are merely a product of the human mind—but when i’m with you, i feel like nothing else matters.” he presses his lips together and gives you a shaky smile, but his eyes are sure and steady. “i have loved you for so many years and i know i will not stop loving you ‘til my very last breath. i can’t bear to even think about how life would be like without you by my side, so, will you marry me?”
SAKUSA KIYOOMI ➞ sakusa insists on doing all the cooking tonight, you’ll just have to sit back and relax. if you’re being honest, he really knows his way around the kitchen. his meals aren’t fancy, nor are they super intricate, but they always taste like home. “how’d you like the omelette, y/n?” he asks, eyes seemingly avoiding yours. “they taste delicious, omi,” you smile at him, words genuine. “what’s the special occasion?” he wastes no more time for small talk and reaches across the table to gently hold your hand, thumb grazing your knuckles softly.
sakusa takes a deep breath before continuing, “before i met you, i never really understood why everyone makes such a big deal about love. i don’t get why people are so obsessed with finding their true love. but now, i have been blessed to be able to experience firsthand how beautiful it can be.” his dark eyes are as intense as ever, but they held a new level of softness tonight that is only reserved for you. “you opened my eyes to a lot of new things, and you have shown me how wonderful it is to love and be loved. i may not be one for pretty words and poetic love letters, but i hope you feel it in my heart that for as long as i live, i will never stop loving you. you are an important part of my life, and i don’t ever want to lose that. my angel, will you marry me?”

✿ BOKUTO KŌTARŌ
first thing in the morning, bokuto will knock on the bedroom door and enter with a huge bouquet in his arms, practically covering his broad torso.
his way of waking you up consists of peppering your whole face with little kisses and sealing it with a final kiss on the lips.
he would happily tell you all about the picnic he planned out for the two of you.
like the gentleman that he is, he’ll carry the giant wicker basket filled with cute mini sandwiches, pre-peeled oranges and a jug of sweet peach tea in his arms.
he sets out a large blanket on the grass for both of you to sit on, and bo wanders around while you take the pre-prepared food out.
after half an hour, he’ll come out from the bushes with a handful of white daisies in hand, eyes sparkling with glee.
“why’d you keep giving me flowers today, bo?” you ask, grateful but confused.
he plucks one of the daisy stems from his grasp and tucks it behind your ear, smiling brightly as he admires your face.
“it’s because you’re beautiful,” he beams, “and the flowers are beautiful! it matches perfectly.”
even after all this time, you’re still caught off guard by the genuineness in his voice.
whenever he says these things, he’s not just being nice—he’s being honest, which is what makes it so much more special.
✿ AKAASHI KEIJI
akaashi wakes up extra early in the morning to cook you breakfast.
he’ll take time to make homemade pancakes for you—from scratch!
he would gently knock on your door and carry the plate filled with pancakes to the bedroom so that the sweet scent of vanilla is the first thing you wake up to in the morning.
both of you might eat breakfast in bed together while watching the latest episode of your favorite TV show.
after you’re done enjoying the fresh pancakes, he draws you a relaxing bath and tells you to get ready for the plans he arranged for today.
the two of you decide to have a quick lunch in your favorite restaurant—the place where you had your first date with akaashi
after you’re done eating, he kisses the back of your hand and guides you to the planetarium, where he had booked out the whole venue for the evening
and when you gape at him in disbelief, he would only smile and press a soft kiss on your forehead.
“i don’t deserve any of this,” you sniff.
“you deserve the world, angel.” akaashi says, eyes full of tenderness, “i want you to know that, and i’ll do everything in my power to make you happy.”
he takes your hands and gently places them on his shoulder, smiling softly when you clasp your fingers together on the back of his neck.
the two of you sway along the planetarium’s background music, foreheads touching, like there’s no one else more important than each other.
“i love you,” you whisper, eyelashes fluttering as akaashi plants a small kiss on the tip of your nose.
“i love you too,” he says, voice firm and unwavering.
✿ IWAIZUMI HAJIME
you wake up to iwaizumi waiting for you in the kitchen, brewing a cup of hot coffee.
he doesn’t even need to ask how you want your coffee made, he practically knew it by heart after years of being together.
he sets the mug on the table and presses a small kiss on the crown of your head before walking over to the couch, nervously reaching over for a big scrapbook filled with pictures of the two of you over the years, accompanied with little notes beside each one.
as you admire the amount of care he puts into making this album of your relationship, he hands you a cream envelope and motions for you to open it.
inside, there were two tickets, yellow in color, for a ride on the ferris wheel during the sunset.
he cooks you some homemade curry and rice, and urges you to eat it quickly so you can catch the train in time for sunset.
he held your hand tight the whole way there, and still refused to let go when you’re on the ferris wheel.
it was only when your carriage stops at the very top for a few short seconds that iwaizumi lets go of your hands to cup your face instead, kissing you softly, gently.
“i know i’m not always the best in expressing my love in sentences, but i hope you can truly feel how much i love you.” he sighs, offering you a half smile.
“oh, hajime,” tears are forming in your eyes, “you make me feel like i’m the most loved person in this world.”
his thumb grazes your cheekbone as he looks you in the eyes, eyebrows furrowed.
“well, you’re the most loved person in my world,” he mutters bashfully, “and you deserve it all. really.”

OIKAWA sends you selfies at any time of the day just to remind you what he looks like in case you forget, as if you ever will
IWAIZUMI waves at you once your eyes meet after you enter the lecture hall, signaling to you that he saved you the seat right next to him
MATSUKAWA and you have a lot of inside jokes. lots and lots of it to the point that it sometimes annoys the people around you when you laugh over something someone said, and both of you shrug it off by apologizing and saying “it’s nothing”
KUROO rests his chin on top of your head to remind you of your height difference and also just because he can. a lowkey bully, really
KENMA generally doesn’t show affection, let alone know how to return them. but when you’re sad, happy, or anything really, he’ll stroke the top of your head as he would a cat. he finds it comforting so he assumes everyone else would, too
OSAMU steals your food. but he also packs more than he usually eats in his bentos just because he knows you’re gonna want to steal his food too
ATSUMU runs to your seat during a timeout and you have to give him five as like a little ‘power-up boost’
SUNA doesn’t text to ask if you could take a call. he will randomly call you at 3 AM because he’s outside your house and he wants to get ice cream
USHIJIMA remembers every little detail from every one of your stories. even ones from where you thought he wasn’t remotely interested in
SEMI looks for you among the audience before he tells them the story of how he met you, right before he plays the song that he wrote about you
TENDOU does that thing where he taps your other shoulder from behind you, making you look for whoever did it and you always fall for it. that always warrants him a smack from you and sometimes you think he particularly does it for the smacks. quite the masochist
