Doe, definitely. Nikolai definitely doesn’t know how to handle himself when it comes to affection.

Nikolai was born to be a big spoon, and Dorcas is the most spoon-able person in the world. It’s as simple as that.
Most common argument?
It is very often that Nikolai will be late for things simply because he is preoccupied with Sonny; in fact, Nikolai’s proclivity for lateness and absentmindedness is perhaps the most common source of annoyance in their relationship.
Favorite non-sexual activity?
It’s a fair tie between playing with Sonny and baking-- Dorcas has made Nikolai into a domestic holdout, and his specialty is pecan pie, believe it or not. Or, if Christmas tree decorating counts as a general activity, then it’s got to be that.
Who is most likely to carry the other?
Dorcas is very easy to pick up and tote around; she’s terribly small, and Nikolai has found that he can move much faster with her gingerly perched in his arms.

Nikolai it utterly enamored with Dorcas’s hands; it may seem strange, but they are the softest, gentlest hands in the entire world.

Nikolai starts wearing ties more. He hasn’t the slightest idea why ties are meant to change Dorcas’s perception of him, but he figures it might. He also sits up straighter, and takes a little more time in brushing his hair in the mornings; he wants to look nice, for once.
Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate?
Doe and Nik; they’re not the most creative when it comes to pet names, and the words “sugar buns” coming out of Nikolai’s mouth are not the most natural. So they simply leave it at that.
Who worries the most?
Dorcas, probably. Nikolai is like a giant child, who thinks only of consequence and not possibility; Dorcas has enough foresight to worry.
Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant?
Surprisingly enough, Nikolai remembers just about everything Dorcas has ever told him. From her favorite color to her bedtime routine; he’d absolutely remember something that simple.
Who tops?
Nikolai. He likes control.

Dorcas! She’s wonderfully enthusiastic about cuddles and kisses, and Nikolai will never deny her.

Dorcas, definitely!

Dorcas; Nikolai has a horrible relationship with his family, and so talking to them is a rare occurrence. But he could certainly be convinced for Dorcas’s sake.

They’re skeptical at first, but there’s no doubt that they’ll warm up to them, for Nikolai’s intimidating exterior is melted away by his undeniable affection for Dorcas.

Dorcas, absolutely. Nikolai will be hesitant to join in, but Dorcas’s dancing, enthusiasm, and vibrance is undeniable.

They’re both experimenters; while they’re both competent, strange concoctions are more likely then not.

Nikolai. He hears them on the street or misremembers them when Evan says them in passing, and makes them his own. They’re strange-- but they’re also quite charming.

Dorcas. Nikolai’s ears flood with smoke and his cheeks turn a horrible crimson; there’s nothing funnier.

Nikolai is always afraid to touch Dorcas, no matter where and no matter when. He’s afraid he’ll burn her, as he’s done so many times. He’d only ever been with one other girl, and after disfiguring her hands beyond repair, he’d vowed never to do the same again-- and to do so with Dorcas would be to ensure his own damnation. He would never forgive himself.

At the same time, Dorcas is healing Nikolai in ways he didn’t know possible. Fear is a distant memory when she is near; the monster is silent; the fire is cold. She’s the first person who’s ever made him think of family.
