“So, Dr. Cossack vishes to adopt more Robot Masters? Vell, the more he can save from Vily, the better.”
“He’s not gonna adopt you, is he!?”
“No, Bouquet, of course not. Though at this rate, I vould not be terribly surprised if he at least tried.”
“He better not! You’re a Prescott now, not a coffee sack!”
“If anyone tries to take you away, we’ll get Beetle and Scimi to beat ‘em up!”
“Hahah...okay guys, that’s enough. Shade’s not going anywhere, so there’s no need to get worked up. Right, Sha-”
“Shade, are you crying?”
“I...I've never felt so loved and vanted before...this varmth in my heart... I pray it vould never end...”
“This is Spooperween! This is Spooperween!”
“I think Halloween’s tomorrow, actually.”
“Beetle?”
“Yeah, little buddy?”
“THIS IS SPOOPERWEEN! THIS IS SPOOPERWEEN!”
“Dah! Okay, it’s Spooperween!”
When are you getting yourself a lady bug, Beetle Man??
“UHH...well, I mean...I don’t really have time for dating right now. With the doctor missing, I need to focus on protecting my family fro-”
“I’m safe and sound now, Beetle. And I gotta admit, I’ve been wondering the same thing...”
“Oh...yeah, that’s right. Well, in that case, I...uh...”
“UHHH...”
That's good, but I was referring more in the romantic side.
“Oh, well uh...Hydro hasn’t complained about not finding a date in a while, so I guess he’s doing well on that front. As for Scimitar and Synth, I-
“...”
“...uh...I’ve learned that I need to rethink my position on that subject.”
Where it all Began
@robotiic-natiion
“...hang on...I think...OH! Oryx! I see a white oryx!” Beetle watched the horned beast through Prescott’s binoculars as he rode in the back of their rented pick-up. “Scimitar, look at it!” he offered his sister the binoculars with a level of childish excitement almost rivaling that of Bouquet.
Scimitar, kneeling on top of the truck’s cab, snatched the binoculars from Beetle. However, her sight went in the opposite direction. “...no threats sighted from the northwest...” she mumbled to herself.
“I don’t think you’ll have any luck getting her to sightsee, Beetle.” Prescott called from the passenger’s seat. “She’ll probably be on edge until we’re back in the states.” Not that he could blame Scimitar. The last time Prescott was in this country, he ended up getting kidnapped and forced into slave labor by Wily. He likely would’ve brought Scimitar along even if she hadn’t demanded he do so for his own safety.
Beetle, who was brought for the same reason, could only sigh in agreement. “So how long do you think we’ll be here, doctor?” he asked. “I’ve never done an ecological survey before.”
“I doubt it’ll be more than a couple days.” Prescott answered. “I used to do surveys like this when I was getting my doctorate. We just go in, see if it’s safe to drill for oil, and leave. In, out, easy.”
“...that doesn’t sound like something that needs someone to fly halfway across the world for.” Beetle pointed out. “Couldn’t this Hassad person get local scientists to conduct the survey?”
“Normally, yes. But Greenpeace said there’s some rumors around the man, so they wanted one of theirs to do the survey this time. Besides, it’s nice to get out of the lab for-oh, looks like we’re here.” Prescott asked the driver to pull over as the truck reached a collection of large tents. Once the truck stopped, Prescott and the two DPNs stepped out (in Scimitar’s case, off) of their ride.
“Excuse me!” Prescott called out to the many people going in, out, and around the tents. “I’m with Greenpeace! I’m looking far a Dr. Malihk-Hassad!”
hornet man
“Why does that name sound familiar?”
“It’s because we met mister Hornet Man while you still had Joe AI, Manny! He was very nice to both of us, as well as patient with you.”
“Oh, now I remember.” Looks like that memory’s soft-lock just lifted. “He gave us candy, right? Was it any good?”
“Well, I can’t say since I couldn’t have any. But the kids seemed to like it. You too...even though you didn’t take the wrapper off before you ate it.”
“Oh Asimov, I didn’t take it off, did I?” And now that memory was unlocked, too! Though it seemed like Manny preferred it had stayed locked...
“I was just at the dock, and there are pirates selling produce!”
“They’ve got a special on corn, too. They’re only charging a buccaneer.”
“...it suddenly dawned on me that I’m the only one you can pun at until we go home.”
