Finally did a redraw of my Brigitte Penvellyn piece from 2023! I love this character so much, I love how we get to learn about her through the details in her room, and I’ve always wanted to curl up in her window seat and watch the stars with her. She should not have been at the club she was right where she needed to be

ethel being trained as a bosinny as a mirror to jane’s upbringing— each told to be proud of their heritage, each putting in the massive amounts of work to be a proper bosinny/penvellyn (well rounded education, memorization, rituals). ethel being raised knowing she will tutor a penvellyn in the next generation, brought up since birth to recognize her birthright the same way jane is asked to, having no other say in their life’s trajectory because the generation chose them. born as a young girl to only serve one purpose and one purpose only. what if your tutor was raised just like you!!
