“Okay - the sidewalk is a little steep here. Oh Ari, hold up. I think one of my shopping bags tore.” Evelyn stops in her tracks to remove a box containing a robotics kit from a bag labeled Discovery Kingdom and switch it over to a sturdier one. She frowns at the box as she does so, uncertainty clouding her face. “It’s too easy. Rory’s going to hate it.”

When she’s done, the young woman turns to her companion again. “Should we head to bakery now or is there anywhere else you wanted to go first?”

It’s been years since she’s seen her but Ari’s isn’t a face that Jude would forget or overlook, not even in the hustle and bustle of a busy morning at Sweet William’s. Once she receives her order, Jude approaches Ari’s table (grateful that the clacking of her shoes has probably alerted Ari to her presence, she’d hate to alarm her) and says, “Hey. Last I heard, they never caught who decided to outfit the former mayor’s ice statue in La Perla. Think he’s still pissed about it?”

————————  &.  —   IT WAS GETTING PRETTY COLD, something climber didn’t really notice since he can’t feel the temperature changing. he realized it only when the kid hinted at it, and he saw her hugging herself with a slight shiver. after that, nothing more was needed - he immediately got his jacket off, and placed it on her.

needless to say, he chuckled a little bit when she pretty much disappeared under the cloth.

« m-maybe we can fold it a little, so it’ll fit you better! » he tells her, trying to adjust the jacket on her that little bit that was possible. it is huge for her, actually, which makes it even more amusing. simply folding it might not be enough. « th-there’s a souvenir shop, not far from here. maybe there will be s-something that will suit you better! you can keep my jacket while we go there, i don’t feel the cold! »

       It had been an odd day all around for Yuuma. There was a stillness to the atmosphere in Heartland, ever since she woke up and practically ran out the door to Uni - she was late for her first class of the day, per the norm - like the world was almost anticipating something. 

       Static hung in the air, making the hot, dreary summer’s day even worse. From the beginning of the day to nearly dusk, the sun was a glaring shade of red, almost as if there was a haze in the air. The last days of summer in Japan clung like a heavy cloak, the sound of cicadas drowning out anyone’s thought process. And it severely messed up her own when she was on the way home from school.

        Wearily climbing up the stairs to her attic room, it was blissfully cool compared to the heat outside, and calmed her nervous mood. It was just the end of summer, she thought. That’s what was making her all rallied up. She never imagined what would be waiting for her when she saw a familiar blue glow filling up the space of her room.

         She didn’t say a word, but her lips formed the name Astral silently.

“here’s the thing: we have the choice between watching this documentary on personalized marketing i have to watch for class or going into town and running some errands.” dropping down on the bed next to mimi, she sighs. “i know i promised you a lazy saturday, but life just happened i guess..” it really was a shame but for once, procrastination wasn’t an option any longer. “if you’ll keep me company for my errands, i’ll invite you for coffee. or bubble tea?” (( @mimixeu​ ))
