Akari looked down, a grim expression painted her face as she gently patted the younger's shoulder. "Yeah.... you heard what the vet said." For a moment, she had to stop herself in order to gather her emotions. Animals held a special place in Akari's heart. Growing up she was bullied so much for being unable to speak Korean and sometimes humans were so cruel, but animals never cared that she wasn't fluent or that her Korean might've sounded funny. What they saw was what was in her heart, whether she was a good person or not, the "real" Akari. It was because of this that seeing an animal suffering felt like a thick thorns shoving their way straight into her heart and lungs. Breathing felt difficult and her heart seemed like it would stop any moment. Now was not the time for tears though. She needed to be strong for her junior, Rowan. After what felt like forever, Akari's emotions stabilized. "Maybe in a way we did help it. It at least its suffering can end quickly." The words themselves may have sounded cold but there was warmth and comfort in Akari's tone.
