Well damn.
Charlie huffed as she looked them over, taking in the blood, the oddly angled limbs, the bored tone of their voice. She’d been hurt plenty of times on a daily basis, but each wound still always hurt like a bitch. How they were powering through it, she didn’t know, but a part of her admired them for it.
That didn’t change the fact that she briefly considered abandoning them like that, however. It was in her blood, her instincts to do so. Survival of the fittest, every man for himself, blah blah blah. But after staring at their broken body for a couple of seconds, the blonde came to the decision to not do that and instead help them out a little.
She really couldn’t care less if they died or not. After all, they were a state and they would just come back again. Still, she figured she might as well save them some dignity--dying from falling out of a window would not be one of their greater feats.
So, that led to the Michigander stepping up to their front door and kicking it open. Why deal with potential locks when you can just get rid of the door problem entirely? She’d pay for any damages done to the hinges, once she had some money that is.
With the entrance open for access, Charlie turned back to Reese and knelt down at their side. “Forgive me for this, bud. Or don’t if you want--I’m sort of indifferent about it.” With that, she wrapped an arm around their legs and another around their back and stood, cradling them in her arms as she stepped into the house.
