her wrists are in his hands. it’s not like he’s never touched her·before, and it’s not like they’ve never done this·; still, there’s something more about it, especially in the way his smile fails to fade as he looks down from on top of her. she’s pinned, totally at his mercy, and the giggles are still leaving her lips, anticipation dancing almost as bright in her eyes as it is in his. kai loves to win, that’s no secret, and tickle wars cannot·be an exception.·

he’s been back in los angeles for maybe three hours, and he’s missed her. she smells like cigarettes and home in a way that he hasn’t experienced for two years now aside from when he was in her presence. or maybe forever.·kai’s smile expands into a grin, the expression that he wears almost wicked·in a sense, and he shifts a bit. shifts down, because he can see a sliver of skin. a sliver that he intends to take full advantage of.

they are running WILD. kai can smell her all over him, permeating his body, even when the majority of his fur has gone. he’s on two legs instead of four now, but he still feels like he’s hunting ; still feels like sinking his teeth into something, even as his feet slip in the sand. they are naked more than they aren’t, and last night had been spent between the trees, on the deer trails, running headlong for no other reason than they could. apex predators, kings and queens of the forest and the city alike. he would howl if it weren’t the sun currently cresting the horizon rather than the moon.·

a glance is cast over his shoulder, and arms are thrown wide, chest expanding as he draws in a deep breath of the fresh sea air. it’s the early morning, chill clinging to him, and auburn hair glows in the light cast off the waves. he’s lean, toned, muscles stretching as he arches his back, and he’s grinning. he can’t help it after a night like that. they had curled up together here for a few hours before dawn, two large wolves sprawled just shy of the tide, and he feels rested. he feels ready for the world.

“ do you know where we are? ” his instincts tell him they’re far enough from the city to not have to worry too much, and the air smells fresh, with only the slightest hints of the pollution he’s used to riding it.

as soon as she steps out of the shower, she’s already got a cigarette hanging from between her swollen lips. she got it from her brother, mikey. with a roll of her eyes, she pulled a towel around her tiny frame and walked into her bedroom, flicking ashes into the ashtray by her disheveled bed. she didn’t remember the guy that left early that morning and she was happy to keep it that way. it didn’t look good to the family if they knew it was a different guy almost every other night.

a knock came at her door and without even thinking, she padded through her apartment, her long dark hair fell over her shoulders and water droplets scattered over her almost glowing tanned skin. with a sigh, she threw the door open and her eyebrows rose considerably ; the guy from the night before. she arched a perfectly manicured brow and her green eyes didn’t light up, but she did felt a stir at the pit of her stomach when she began to remember what went on.

“ – did you forget somethin’ or did you miss my pussy already?”

classy as ever, this one was. she had her father to thank for that.

he didn’t forget anything, that’s for damn sure ; as a matter of fact, it hadn’t even occurred to him that coming up with an excuse would be at all necessary in this situation. he imagines it probably should have, considering their circumstances are pretty unusual, but when kai starts giving a fuck about the little things, he’ll stop being himself. he’s all confidence, practically bleeding it from his pores, and it’s obvious by the way he holds himself that her words don’t exactly thrown him off kilter. he’s heard worse, after all. he’s said worse within the last twenty-four hours alone. 

“ take a wild guess. ”  the way he says it leaves no room for it to be questioned, and pale blue eyes slip down over her form, traversing back up after a few moments of just lingering. he probably should let it alone. after all, he hasn’t really been the sort to come back twice lately, let alone when there are clearly a lot of other options for him that don’t involve being stood here in front of her like this right now. she’s got something in him, and she’s using it to keep him fast, even if it isn’t conscious. he’ll cut it loose once he’s had his fill.

kai’s not sure how it happened -- all he knows is that it has, or it is, and just... there’s a lot. this is a lot. he likes rae, after all ; genuinely and truly, in a way that he doesn’t ever like most people. or at least in a way that he hasn’t in a long time. there are too many reasons not to, after all, most beginning and ending with him, and how he handles things, but he can’t help it. he hasn’t been able to help it. that’s why he keeps coming around, and inviting her to go out with him, and flirting with her even when he hadn’t been certain she was flirting back until the text messages she’d sent him last night. 

now he sits with her in the back of griffin’s old shitty car, completely alone, without the lads, and without the booze. he doesn’t want it. he hasn’t wanted it. and when he leans towards her, it’s not to try to pressure her into anything, and it certainly isn’t to make her any sort of uncomfortable. he just wants to show her, that’s all ; kai has always been the sort of person who finds it difficult to express himself with words, so his actions speak louder than his voice ever could. he reaches up to touch at the dark hair that hangs about her face, light as a feather, and then he kisses her.

they should not be doing this. they should definitely, definitely not be doing this. kai’s head tilts as he leans in to kiss her again, body completely contradicting his thoughts, and his lips part, deepening it as if to drive the point home. he hasn’t seen her in a while. they haven’t seen each other in a while, and even in a situation this messy, he can’t seem to resist the attraction. it’s new, but it’s heady -- almost overwhelming in a way that makes all of his senses go awry, and his body feel electric wherever it presses against her’s. 

her brother would kill him if he knew. 

it doesn’t stop his hand from slipping into her hair, and it certainly doesn’t stop his knee from pressing in between her thighs, wanting to feel her. wanting her to feel him. when he breathes her name, it doesn’t sound wrong ; in fact, it sounds absolutely fucking right, and surely that isn’t something that he should ignore. “ alicia. ”

she’s upset, and he can tell. can tell not just because he knows her, but because he shares the feeling. shares the knowledge of what it is that has her this way, and the need to get closer, to take her burdened thoughts onto his own shoulders and protect her is strong. he knows he shouldn’t, knows that it’d be more healthy for them to talk it out, for them to take it apart and sort it through words, but kai has never been good with words. he has never been good with words, and he has always been good with touching. 

which is why he does that now. 

hands move over her hips from where he stands behind her, the arm of the sofa just shy of his side, and he noses against her neck, her jaw, and up behind her ear. he breathes out slow, comforting as he lets his palms traverse her waist, then her rib cage, and further still. he wants to be near to her. he wants to feel her, and to let her feel him, and to tell her through that feeling that he is Here. that he will always be Here, and he is not going away again.
